I love your videos and I have taken some advice from you as well even though I am a long-time grower myself. The one thing I prefer personally is keeping the filter and exhaust fan outside of the tent. I feel it provides another foot or so of height for the plants. Which to me is super important.
@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that can be a real problem especially with the larger filters. We have one on a ten inch exhaust fan and the damn thing is massive =) I keep them inside the tent where I can just to keep it compact, but will move them out when necessary.

I've got that setup. I like it so far. Being that this is my first real grow, I don't have anything to compare it against. My buddy picked up a cheap 3x3. I definitely like the quality of the SF tent better. Looking at maybe picking up a 3x3 for the future. I like the room to fit more than one plant, but for space constraints, the sf1000 kit is hard to beat. I wish Spider Farmer would make a square light for the 3x3. That would be the bees knees. I will say though, one plant in the 2.2x2.2 is scrogged and got her wall to wall. She's a couple weeks away from harvest and soooo frosty.
@TheHippieGeeks4 жыл бұрын
Nice! We are super excited to get started in this one. 3x3 is a hard one, though the SF-2000 will do it, it isn't optimal. If you have the funds though, you could go with an SF-4000 and dim it, then if you ever decide to go with a 4x4 or 5x5 tent later you would still be covered.

Typically you add more light as you get further into the grow. However, some folks do have 24 hours of dark right before they harvest and then hang the harvest in the dark as well.
@GrowYourOwnGYO3 жыл бұрын
Depends how much light is in there. If youve only got 1 of these lights just leave it full power. If you have 2 you can dim one of them slightly starting week 8 till harvest day and just bring it down slightly every few days. since they wont be needing as much light towards the end of the cylce. Also depends how big your tent is. The size tent in the video you could dim like i said. But anybigger you may aswell leave both lights on full power because it wont be enough to cover the canopy.

Heat will likely not be the issue, it will probably be light intensity. These quantum board style lights really put out the light, and it can be overwhelming to plants that aren't used to it. The sweet spot for us so far has been in the 20-30 inch range, just depending on the plant.

Hello hippie Geeks! I have a question for you. I wanted to ask you because I value your opinion and am certain you know what you're talkin about. I have a small 2 by 2 tent and want to hook up my inline fan. The tent is not very tall and was wondering if I can put inline fan on outside of tent blowing air in through ducting and just having a separate duct exhausting air from tent? Would this work? I hope I made myself clear with the question. I would greatly appreciate any advice. I'm a noob. Thank you for the excellent videos Hippie Geeks
@TheHippieGeeks4 жыл бұрын
No, the fan itself does not need to be inside of the tent to work. What I would do though is have it pulling the the hot air out of the top the tent, and than have your intake duct down low to bring in cooler air.
@WildBill4964 жыл бұрын
@@TheHippieGeeks thank you so much! Do I need a fan hooked up to the duct to bring the cool air into the tent? Also won't light leak through the intake duct opening? I appreciate you responding to my questions and comments. Thank you so much.
@TheHippieGeeks4 жыл бұрын
Adding an intake fan can help, but usually the exhaust fan will pull air in thru that lower opening. When using an intake duct, you can bend it around to minimize lights ability to come into the tent. Often though, we use the screened openings on the bottom of the tent to let fresh air in, and the light infiltration isn't too terrible.
