A nice compact light unit. Suprised to see the spaces in the centre section. Quite economical to run. I still like the T5 sunblasters. Had mine 4 years with no issues. 👍🏻

I do like the Spider farmer lights. As you'll see in a future video, I use the longer shape ones (SF300 & SF600) as "heat mats" with trays etc on top. Have a great week buddy

Hi Steve. Coincidentally, I was looking at them last night. I wonder why there is a gap in the lights in the middle?. Nice as a freebie and thanks for the review. Elaine 🌱
@DigwellGreenfingers10 ай бұрын
Not really sure about the spacing, Elaine, but I think it may be to ensure a more even light distribution. Sort of reducing the brillance in the centre. Have a great week 🙂

Mat looks good. Lights 130 quid. Normal 6500k bulb will be fine for seedlings btw.
@DigwellGreenfingers10 ай бұрын
The non-dimming SF1000D with the older LEDs is around £90, around the same price as other makes. The trouble with me using a 6500K bulb is it would only be complimentary to the other eleven growlights I have. Many of which will be used right up to maturity for the tomato, chill, flowering plants that I sell.

Good video once again - can i ask for you to do a video on seeds, what seed suppliers are best , if there are any you would stay away form (if suttons or mr fothergills are any good), when to sow inside in a propergator , old the back of the packet when it says sow feb does that mean outside or outise , would you do them 4 weeks before the sow date on the packet etc . up to u just an idea
@DigwellGreenfingers11 ай бұрын
Great suggestion! Massive subject though. I'll do what i can. Regarding seed suppliers: I don't really have a preference as such and don't forget that many companies are the same. T&M are Suttons are Dobies. DT Brown are Mr Fothergills. I like Bargain Seeds as they sell seeds in small lots (who needs 1000 cabbages? LOL) and very cheap - 29p to 79p per packet. Real Seeds are good as they are all their own seeds. I also use Kings Seeds, JustSeed, Mega Seed Store. There are none that I steer clear of. Have a great week.

I have the SF1000 but probably an older version than yours and I think it's great, never worked out how much it costs to run though 🤔 maybe it's best I don't think about it. We have solar panels so I just tell myself that it's all even in the end 😊 Take care 😊

Hi there do you have both buttons on in veg or just thd dimmer cheers Sammy
@DigwellGreenfingers10 ай бұрын
Hi Sammy. The button on the left is an on/off button. Pressed in (on) it allows the dimmer knob to be used. When it is out the LEDs are at full brightness. This out position also enables the unit to be controlled via its data cable for dimming. So if you had four lights A B C D and wanted to control them all from A, the on/off buttons would be -- A - in, B - out, C - out, D - out. This way the dimmer on A will dim all four. Hope this explains it
