This still holds up as a stand-alone and a sequel. SM2 is more about Peter's journey in deciding what he wants for himself, but realizing he can't have it all. He lost sight of that due to all the abuse he gets as both Peter and Spiderman. He knows he could walk away and forget about it, yet he can't because he isn't the type to walk away when he knows he can do something others can't when people need help. Such as the tragic irony of being Spiderman. Doing what's right doesn't always mean you win.

The problem in this one was Peter was stuck in between his duties as Spider-Man and his feelings for Mary Jane. That's why he was losing his powers cause he couldn't make up his mind about her and being Spider-Man. See MJ was always the key! He just needed to finally tell her and that he loved her.

This is honestly the most excitement I have ever been on marvel movie Mondays, I truly hope Tobey maguire spider movies never end. Spider-Man 2 is definitely without a doubt one of the best marvel movies ever, with this scene here summing it all up 50:11. Doc Ock and Peter having a heart to heart conversation about morality, responsibility and sacrifice. It's so good because it shows how much Peter has learned, with aunt may clearing showing her influence on him and his moral maturity. it's so wholesome because doc Ock simultaneously realizes that he's betrayed his own moral values by allowing the arms to control him, and decides that he will do what's right even if he's going against his dreams. And the Doc Ock goes to stop his own dream even if it kills him because it's the right thing to do, and he dies doing the right thing.

Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina are tied for the top slot when it comes to movie interpretations of comic book villains. Their portrayals of Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, respectively are so well done and written. Also, the receptionist who told Peter that he was late with the delivery is actress Emily Deschanel, who's best known for her role as Dr. Temperance Brennan from the TV series *Bones* and Ted Raimi (Hoffman) is best known as Joxer from *Xena: Warrior Princess*

I think the reason why Peter started losing his powers was because he was starting to lose faith in himself and lost focus. He needed a break mentally physically to recharge himself. He loved Mary Jane but when Aunt May was talking to Peter he was re-inspired. He was willing to give up what he wanted the most, which was Mary Jane that's why he told her I don't love you. He was ready to let her go for good he felt he could not have any commitments besides being Spider-Man.

That's because she knew that he loved her all along. Up until that point he had been terribly inconsistent, absent, and distant. Her suspicions about him being Spider-Man were only speculation based on one kiss, so without those dots connected there wasn't a whole lot of reason for her to fight for him, because she was getting very little in return. Agreeing to marry another man so quickly and leaving him at the altar was totally inexcusable, but at the core she was just trying to move on from someone who was painfully stringing her along, and at the end she knows why he did and decides that that's not a problem for her.

Harry and Peter were staying together in the first movie I think maybe they got distant and Peter got his own place as u see in this movie. The my Back line was a real inside joke. Between Tobey and director Sam Raimi. While filming the bio movie Seabiscuit Tobey really did injure his back pretty back while doing a stunt riding a horse. I guess the Sony execs thought he was trying to get a even bigger raise again to do Spider-Man II. They thought he was holding up filming for cash. Not that he really was injured pretty badly.

I believe what the director Sam Raimi was going to do. Was like in the really early original comics. JJJ hated Spidey funded a scientist. Who pretty much recreated the Capt.A super solder serum. He used it on a volunteer athlete like guy. Who ended up becoming a new villain named the Scorpion. I think Raimi was going to have the Scorpion caused the accident. A telephone lineman had in the comics. He ended up becoming Electro. I figured since his name and costume would never be cool in a movie. They were going to give him another later Spidey villain's name of The Shocker. As well as his much cooler looking costume. Leading into Spider-Man #4, #5 & #6. With the Sinister Six.

Check out director Sam Raini's other movies too. Army of Darkness a dark humor action-comedy horror movie. Hence the chain saw scene in this movie. Bruce Campbell aka ASH in the Army of darkness/Evil dead movies. Also featured Bruce Campbell, he was in Spider-Man as the wrester ring announcer and gave Spider-Man his name The AMAZING Spider-Man. He was the ass hole usher in part II who refused to let Peter into MJ's play. And is in SM III as a guy working in a French restaurant. Raimi was going to reveal in SM #4-#6? As a Spidey villain Mysterio. Raimi also directed Dr.Strange II. Hopefully Raimi will also direct a trilogy of Nova the human rocket and ROM Spaceknight movies for the MCU too.

Mary Jane is a perfect example of a character who suffered from poor writing decisions. >In Spider-man 1, she seemed like a sweet person. But she had no idea what she wants. Going from Flash to Harry to Spider-man, while half flirting with Peter. By the end of the film, when she confesses her love to Peter, it falls flat because of her inability to choose one guy. >But by Spider-man 2, any charm or chance of her being a good person had died completely. Marrying someone without knowing enough about them, while flirting with a past crush. Then running away at the altar. Just completely toxic at that point. There was an easy way to write this. -In Spider-man 1, take away MJ dating Harry and Flash. Keep the Spider-man crush and developing Peter romance. -In Spider-man 2, take away the whole marriage storyline (as it serves nothing in the overall plot). Problem solved. Now the relationship seems more meaningful.

This is the best Spider-Man movie of all of them and although a lot of people love No Way Home, it did have a lot of good moments, but the whole story and premise was ridiculous, it was mostly for nostalgia. Some of these people had legitimate illnesses and that couldn't be cured regardless of the universe, and for being a sorcerer supreme technically, not because of Wong, he was very laxcidisical with his power. However, I actually like TAS right after this film. It's more comic accurate about the relationship (Gwen) and the webbing not being organic and also the the relationship felt real. The costume was nicer and the swinging was also better. I know it's an unpopular opinion because people hate the skateboarding part of his character. I can promise you though, nerds skateboard...
