I like how miles admits he still can't forgive li, but doesn't want to carry hatred towards him anymore, I was initially worried thinking he was going to forgive him but was surprised he said he couldn't. Too many times in stories where when a villain has done horrendous acts of violence towards others they are somehow "forgiven" this was a nice change of pace!

Thankfully I wasn’t surprised by Miles’s refusal to forgive him. It’s very clear that Li has done too much to ever be forgiven by anyone but it didn’t stop him from doing his best to atone for his actions.

I loved this scene so much. Obviously Miles would never forgive Li for killing his dad and bombing all of those civilians just for revenge on Norman. But he moves on enough to cooperate with him to save Peter. And Li acknowledges it and doesn't seem excuses for his crimes. That's how you do a redemption arc

It kind of reminds me of Zuko's Redemption, In particular the scene where Zuko tries to join Team Avatar only to get rejected. Li Acknowledges his mistakes and makes no excuses and wants to make up for them and doesn't complain when Peter denies his help in trying to rescue Miles. But Like with the scene when Zuko came to help stop combustion man, Li came to help Peter.

I get CHILLS every time Li says “you should be proud of him! He reminds me of you.” You can tell Li really respected Spider-Man, he really lost himself trying to kill Norman. Once miles sparred him even after everything he did you could tell he knew where he got that from, the heroism, and giving everyone a second chance.

I wasn’t expecting it but Mr. Negative’s redemption brought tears to my eyes. I know why Miles couldn’t forgive him- I couldn’t either if he did that to me. Jeez this series is the perfect blend of realism, comic lore, and new insanity rolled into one. Arkham and Ultimate Alliance are the only ones that came close.

Li is the definition of a man who is full of regret…when he lost his parents he let that hatred consume him, deciding that the world took from him so he needed to take from the world. But when all was said and done, when he was given time alone…he realized it didn’t fix anything. All he did was hurt others and make his life worse…now he can only just try…

Venom seems the most compelling to me simply cos he doesn't understand the human brain and can't comprehend why Peter would reject him. He just accessed EVERYTHING that was inside Peter's mind.

Shoutout to Insomniac for giving Martin Li some amazing character development, this is the kind of development that I wish the MCU would bring back instead of favoring jokes every two minutes. That crazy in-depth personal battle between Miles and Martin in Miles' head was just so good at getting at what Miles was really fighting for. I'm hoping that Insomniac uses that as a blueprint for Green Goblin in Insomniac 3 since Norman's battle with Peter will be similarly personal in Norman's perspective; perhaps Goblin could use his psyche bombs on Peter and Miles to show them how he sees them and how he felt seeing Harry being taken out on a stretcher and his hardships throughout the trilogy.

When I read into his abilities, I grew curious, looked him up on KZbin, and found this video. What miles said to Li before they broke through the last barrier was the most real response. Miles doesn't have to forgive him but he can at least let go of his hatred for him. Also Li's response to all of this shows that he is aware that he has done terrible things and people are gonna hate him and are gonna be unable to forgive him, and he accepts that and makes no excuses. In a way, him saving Peter and giving him the anti venom suit is his way of making it up to May by saving her nephew.
