Something else I was amazed at is this is one of the first games I’ve ever seen that have fully animated npcs inside the interiors of buildings. It’s probably only a select few interiors that are fully rendered so they can do that. You can see this in the first gameplay trailer and at 2:16 if you pause exactly after going to the timestamp

Even after 5 years since the first games launch i still a few times a week boot it up to swing around the city and beat up some bad guys, its just so fun and relaxing to do. I cannot wait for Spider-man 2, because i know ill be playing it for years to come and now with the new machanics theyve added its gonna make the next bunch of years even more fun than ever before

Ik this is probably a weird question but how does the camera work when doing loops with the webs like does the camera pull back so you just see them do loops or does it follow you and go upside-down when you use that mechanic?

Hey question here: 1. Can you still charge jump? 2. Can you still interact with civillians on the ground? 3. Are there new swimming animations? 4. Any enterable buildings besides during story missions? 5. Can you still hold R2 to parkor? 6. Do you know if the symbiote suit can be activated? Like you're playing in the red suit and then you press a button and the black suit forms around you? Thanks! 💯

Charge jump and faster ground sprinting, no news on the swimming yet but you can 'surf' on the water using momentum when swinging/flying fast. No news on open world interactivity and buildings other than NPCs & better interiors when you look inside windows. I'm assuming R2 parkour will remain, unchanged if not tweaked. Web swinging is apparently at least 2x faster than the recent trailer/demo they showed; they also added a loop de loop system and you can hold onto the web as long as you hold R2

Yea man Insomniac don't know the meaning of failure...from Disruptor to Sunset Overdrive and of course Ratchet & Clank and so many more, theyve never made a game that i would consider less than solid(scale of 1 to 10, no lower than 7) and multiple games they've created i consider absolute classics like Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal...Resistance 1,2 and 3 but specifically the first and second game, Spyro 3 and Spiderman 2018 so whenever i see they're the developer of a game im onboard and only maybe only 4 or 5 other developers have the level of respect from me and a resume so noteworthy..i have no doubt Spiderman 2 will be yet another amazing game

65 suits in total at launch. Mix of old, new and original. Most of them having color variations which leads to apparently over "200" different customization options. This number may obviously grow larger as the game progresses and dlc or updates are released like what happened in Spider-Man Ps4. And on that note i would like to start a campaign to see "across the spiderverse" Miguel Ohara 2099 suit in the game. If it's not already in.

Yes, you can. The suit abilities are still there, they jjst appear overtop of whatever suit youre using when you trigger the special moves.

Every form of media that you have ever loved has been copied/pasted at some point. There are only a few wholely original ideas and the rest are derivatives. Whether that be your favorite movies, shows, books or games. The game's clear Arkham influence does not mean it doesn't innovate. It takes the best parts of games like GTA and Arkham and adds the best parts of Spider-Man to it to creates the perfect Spider-Man and perfect superhero game. If you are looking for innovation and saying this game has none, you somehow either didn't see the videos or completely missed the unbelievable stuff the game is doing when it comes to loading. Things like fast traveling speed, character switching speed and no loading screens are innovative. Then you somehow also missed details like when stopping a crime there is a chance the other Spider-Man that you are not currently playing, has beaten you to it and is already stopping the crime and the 2 of you can then stop it together. Don't remember Arkham allowing catwoman to just be in the city at the same time batman was. That switch felt very gamey. This version makes everything feel alive and makes the world feel lived in. You switching to Miles from Peter or Peter from Miles does not mean the other suddenly disappears, no it just changes who you control and which perspective you see. *That* is innovation.

So is it still moonswinging or is it actually physics based now? The fact that you can loop makes me think otherwise, since that's more physics oriented, but you can't put out a game like this quickly without recycling existing systems.

It's designed off the base mechanics from the previous game. But it feels significantly faster and smoother than before. I didn't get a chance to ask about the physics systems for the swinging due to time - but my guess is that it's still simulated. Personally, it felt really good - more so than the last couple games.

According to another KZbin channel, the test passage was largely bug-free. And since the first Spiderman game has relatively few bugs, I'm pretty confident about it. But I still wouldn't pre-order unless you're an ultra Spiderman fan and have to get it on the first day.

I get it that the first game had such a great formula that they went for the ''If it ain't broke'' route. But still, the lack of innovation feels lazy because every latest Sony exclusive felt like the same game as the previous. GOW Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and Spider Man 2 all feel like a glorified expansion/DLC being sold at full price. I'm sure the story will be incredible but i'll wait for a sale drop, no way i'm paying 70 dollars for the same game with a few new contents

I loved the first one, but I wasn't that into MM when i played on PS+ and never finished it. Felt like DLC with boring characters. I'm not sure how i feel about this one. I like the symbiote suit and I'm keen to check out Brooklyn and Queens, at some point, but I'm not keen on the dual narrative thing and the gameplay really does just look the same, except for the wing suit which doesn't look all that appealing. Also i can't stand the new looks of Peter and MJ. I would like something to actually play on my ps5 but this seems like a wait for sale territory, for me.

I was actually the same way. I think Miles was more interesting in the animated movie than that first game and a combination of me running out of time + it just not being as interesting kept me from finishing it. This sequel though, had me hooked. The lizard set piece was awesome

Go check out Blitzwinger's videos if you need more convincing lol. Gameplay isn't the same at all. New combat, new traversal, bigger map. The game is like the first 2 games at a base level but then it just uses that as a jumping off point and it jumps pretty damn high. Don't know what people expected or wanted. But the game seems to be everything i had hoped for.
