Yeah I saw the mixed thing. It’s funny cause higher end pc players are reporting issues, but I’m running this thing with a high graphics preset on an RTX 3050 and have not experienced one crash. Frame dips happen cause older graphics card but I have had zero problems with it thus far.

I feel like there's no downside to the parry system because it's completely unnecessary, but not in a bad way. It just gives you another option for how to play. I'm not used to playing games where you have to parry so I didn't use it and it didn't hinder me at all.

I like to use it on miles with bigger targets bc it makes more sense. He can push electricity back onto them. But I’ll usually stand still for dramatic effect, otherwise I’m dodging into walls and flipping off or jumping off enemies

I normally swing around but there are occasional moments where there's nothing to swing off so I gotta extend my air time a bit with the wings. Other than that I avoid wind tunnels and make my own path through nyc

With RTX 3060, I usually play games at 480p or max 720p, never more than that. Plus, I try to set certain settings like DLSS to "Ultra Performance" or have resolution scaler to 0.75x. A side-effect of decades worth of playing and watching stuff at the lowest possible quality.

I have an RX 7800 XT and a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 32 GB RAM, SSD. This game runs like garbage with horrible hitching and bad frametime no matter what settings. Extremely unacceptable when all the other Nixxes ports are fantastic.

The crashes were horrendous but at least it ran buttery smooth on my RX 6800, R5 5600, 32GB. I've been seeing a downward trend in quality over the last few Insomniac games (including original PS releases) and it's pretty disheartening. This one's just disgraceful even if it isn't Insomniacs fault and it really speaks to a lack of optimisation.

4:09 I think saying the game runs "great" with frame gen on is a little disingenuous. DLSS Quality, that's fair, upscaling implementation is getting better and better (especially at 4k). But frame gen latency, especially in a shoddy port like this that jumps around frames like mad when flying through the city, is going to be massively noticeable. I played SM2 on my 4080 & 12700k for 4 hours yesterday. The intro ran about as well as I'd expect. But no matter what settings I turn down, there's serious drops to 60s and 50s when swinging fast enough.

Honestly I haven’t had any freezing issues. I’m running a 7900XT with a 14900K. What was interesting was that I was notified to update my GPU drivers because I might run into issues if I started the game. When I tried to update my drivers, I had the most up to date version. 🤔

This game is amazing, I've installed it on my gaming laptop for the first time to test, Initially the game had a lot of FPS hitches and lag and NUMEROUS FREQUENT CRASHES. I shrugged it off and kept playing. But the crashes started becoming a problem and I started tweaking my settings a bit... which ALSO crashes the game, any amount of changes in the graphics and display settings causes the game to crash. If you want to make any changes at all, do it in the launcher and not in the game. Secondly, The fps hitches only happen during the start of the game and get smoother as you play it. I suggest for most pc's with dlss and frame generation on, leaving it on high settings profile and turning off ray tracing. This allows most FPS to quality Ratio for those who can run it. The game works well after that.

How unfortunate. Although I appreciate this video existing at all, could you have spared maybe a minute to discuss how the game works for people with average systems? Some of us have a life and don't play games 24/7, North Bend $10,000 per year on having the latest specs. I don't care about the latest forced graphics goody that you have to have, the industry standard used to be 30 frames per second why do we need 60 frames per second? Anyway I think you get the idea; shouldn't have before you buy review contain information that helps the average users like before they buy? 4070 ti Super user here... runs around 70 fps completely maxed out with ultimate raytracing at 1440p. With frame generation I'm getting around 170-200. Only problem right now is you need to use only high settings for ray tracing because of directX crashes. But when it does run without crashing, ultimate ray tracing isn't as taxing as the spec requirements

I'm telling you, the more shaky and high demanding ports we get like this, the more I'm starting to lean towards console gaming for most modern games. Just finishing up Miles Morales. It has been a fantastic game, and far better than I expected. One of the main reasons being that it's *short* and focused. You know, how games used to be. I'll be glad if Spiderman 2 is similar.

But I do feel like the purpose of this game was to test new mechanics and develop the abilities and backstory of Miles lol. Not exactly gonna be winning any awards for writing. @@libervitaexaltis4551 Yeah fair enough, but I also felt that Miles was a bit obnoxious as a character here, I much prefer the Spiderverse movies version of Miles. The stuff with The Underground and Nuform is insanely forgettable (I literally had to look up what they were called). The Tinkerer is alright and there's a decent emotional moment at the end but that's about it. Yeah, it was probably not meant to be a very deep story (hence people calling it glorified DLC for Spiderman 1) but apparently Spiderman 2's story is also bad even though that game's story should clearly be at least on par with Spiderman 1's which was great (I haven't yet played Spiderman 2 to confirm though)

@gameranxTV Its fun, i was a huge fan of the previous ones. I do feel it may have a bit 'too much' on the management of abilities and gadgets and all that side, especially as you have to remember the different abilities of the two characters. It can be a little overwhelming, a bit of decision paralysis in the buttons to press and abilities basically. Could have been a little more streamlined. But overall combat is a lot of fun. Voice acting is great. Story is engaging. Of course, as you noted, it looks phenomenal as well.

Just played it on ps5 and it was my first platinum trophy. Pc players are in for a treat and ppl who think its worse than the original confuse me lol as a continuation of the series is a FANTASTIC middle entry for a trilogy 😌👌🏾

The wingsuit reminds me of when Saint's Row 4 added superpowers. Tried to pass it off as, "You can still steal and drive cars! We didn't take that away!" but they fundamentally ruined the whole point of the series.

Not really even close as a comparison, SR4 made cars redundant, the webwings are an addition to the swinging and are great situationally, but don't make swinging redunant especially if you're actually good at it

Not at all close in SR4 cars are barely used cause its faster to run around the city with web wings you will slow down and its not like theres wind tunnels everywhere and if properly combined with web swinging you can get insane speed essentially it plays off of web swinging very well unlike sr4 with the cars

My biggest problem with the original game was that it was a GREAT Spider-Man adventure game with SUPERB movement system that had open world elements forced on it for no good reason. I mean the side missions even in the original usually led nowhere and their pay off was minimal.

Love the game. But I wish they hadn't complicated the combat with the parry. Very hard to see the signal for it vs regular spidey sense for me. Still great and love the story, but I'd agree that it isnt quiiite as good as the first. Looking forward to the next one to see where the story goes!

Played it with an RTX3070 on Max settings and ultimate RT with dlss on quality and frame gen on. Got between 60 to 80 fps and the graphics are amazing( on 1080p though not 1440 or 4K)

You need a higher base framerate for frame gen to be worth it. Frame gen slightly lowers the base framerate and keeps the latency of the lower fps. Get base fps to 60+ at least​@@ghst7807

I bought this game for €80 on PS5. Finished it in 12-13 hours. Took me less than a weekend. I thought the game was like halfway through and then it was just over. I would not recommend this game even for €60. €40, at best and even then I'd recommend waiting for a sale. It has a good story, but that's all it has going for it imo. The open world is just so easy and quick to complete and you'll easily have that done before you finish the story. It's just too short to justify the pricetag it has. I also have a high-end PC, which is my main platform. Barely even use my PS5 except for exclusives (yeah, it's been collecting dust...). I've actually considered buying Ghost of Tsushima on PC to play through it again with even better visuals and framerate because that game is actually worth it. SM2? Nah, just wait till you can either pirate it or get a huge discount
