@KrenzyNVIDIA That doesn't make much sense if you consider that in the previous movie his uncle died similar to Uncle Ben, getting shot and telling Miles to be the best. Also In Gwen's universe, her friend Peter died but her father is still alive. What I believe is that Miguel is being mislea by something/someone because making Miles lose more parental figures than one makes the 'being sacrificial' and 'embracing you differences' themes of the first movie hypocritical.

He's always been slightly grey in the comics and in this film, I think, he's acting more out of self-interest rather than the whole sacrificial thing, because if you remember, Miles lost his Uncle Aaron just like Peter lost Uncle Ben. So he's already fulfilled the "sacrifice" rule of Spider-Man. I believe the plot twist might be that Miguel is in the wrong because he seems too desperate while yelling at Miles. His tone seems as that of a person who has something personal to lose rather than a hero who's trying to prevent a disaster.
