My personal biggest must have ASM book is #238 just because I'm a huge fan of the Hobgoblin

AMS #33 was one of the first SM books I've owned. I never knew how physically and mentally strong he was until after that book. The writing and the artwork are just phenomenal. That book was so amazing to me that I wore that copy out. Please continue with this series it's great... and maybe one day I can get that 110 AMS from the Gibbon gang.

Love how you have personalized this episode with books that others might not have on their list, the Web of and the ones that were hard to find as well as the early 80s concentration. 252 is a book I’ve wanted since childhood when I missed it the month it came out. Still out of reach at a high grade, recently bought the facsimile which I loved reading and am happy to have it.

Great to see your family in the video. Never heard of that Heroes Hotline book. Cool bit of history there. That traveling ASM 110 is such a cool book. It really did make its way around the country before making its way out to you. The back cover of Marvel Mania 2 is the better of the AF 15 covers. Wished that Stan Lee went with that one.

Thanks for the great video. Thumbs up. My oldest SM comics are amazing #18, 19 and 65. A friend sent them to me from Santa Monica 35 years ago. He got them in a comic book store for somewhere between $5-10 each as I recall. They aren’t in the 9.0 conditions or anything like that but they are cool to have. I should get a CGC rating done just the same.

Very cool! Learned something new with the Conan book and the denied Spider-Man cover. Got the green n gold 90s #1 and #13 in the black suit. Have secret wars #8 as well and I can't help myself to say jazz hands everytime I look at it. Haha! And a X-Force cover that takes me back with memories going to a LCS with my mom that passed. It's cool how an image can spark a nostilgic feel good feeling.

Great video Reg. The AF15 and ASM1 are so beyond my personal collection…unless I get really lucky buying a collection, I don’t think it is even aspirational for me. I always loved the cover of ASM 25 with that Yellow cover and Spider slayer. When I my buddy showed me that when we were kids in the 70s..I was so jealous…and I am a proud owner of that book in mid-grade condition. I would also add (perhaps in your v2 if Spidey “must haves” is ASM 121 and 122. When Gwen died…OMG…as a kid reading it…it caused a gasp. Sort of one of those moments that really made me take comics seriously as a child…seeing comics no longer as just fun books…but, story telling that can evoke emotion. And of course the 122 with the death of Green Goblin. While Peter would spare the Goblin…the death was Karma, and I appreciated that so much as a kid. Anyway, thank you for allowing me to take a stroll down memory lane. The ASM252 and of course Secret Wars 8 are awesome. I got those back in the 80s when I was a late teen…and had a job, and could afford girls, records AND comics. Life was truly taking balance.

Reggggie, you also should check out Marvel Age #13(yes, #13, not issue #12). It has a couple of panels of black suit spiderman from asm 252 three weeks before asm 252 was released... so, technically it is the first black suit in continuity. You heard it here first, Regggggie!
@RegieCollects2 жыл бұрын
I have several copies of Marvel Age 13. It’s technically considered a magazine and not a comic so I don’t think it is considered in continuity. I could be wrong. Where are the fact checkers. 🤣😆😂
@anthonybilello31602 жыл бұрын
@@RegieCollects the "in continuity" are the actual panels from asm #252 before 252 was released. So technically, we actually see black suit spiderman in continuity via a "magazine"(formated in comic book size but not in continuity?🤣). I'm not an expert but I did sleep at a holidayInn 🤣 we are talking dreadstar cover, right? It never gets any love! Therefore, if it is the first time we visually see spiderman in the black suit and in continuity it could be argued it is his true first appearance... in continuity🤣🤣🤣
@anthonybilello31602 жыл бұрын
@@RegieCollects here are some additional facts, Regggg: Marvel Age #13(Dreadstar cover) was released on January 10th, 1984. ASM #252 was released January 31st, 1984. Marvel Age 13 has panels from ASM 252. Panels = continuity. The panels are from continuity therefore they are continuity. Now that we have established this to be the true first appearance of black suit spiderman in continuity... is it a first full appearance or first cameo? 🤣🤣🤣

I don't know what it is about ASM # 110. I was a big Superman/Batman fan back then. I had thumbed through a handful of Spider man comics and I remember reading part of #106 before putting it back in the Spinner and buying my usual DC comics. But the Gibbon got me. #110 was the first Spider man comic I ever bought and didn't stop until the late 70's when my brother started collecting Spider man. I've sold so many McFarlane Spider-Man #1s over the years but still have my gold & silver variants. Might have to try to get the whole set & just keep 'em for myself (to go with #13!) because no one around here really wants to buy 'em, & I really don't want to be another guy flooding eBay with 9.4 & 9.6 copies of that book. Still trying to sell my ASM #54 UK/Pence price variant though. I love the cover & the story but I'm afraid I don't have the kinda collection that deserves something that damn rare. Just the fact that it's the issue where Doc Ock & Aunt May start their romance... 😆
