I think that one of the reasons that people like Spider-Man so much is his rogues gallery. They are what Peter could've became if he didn't adhere to "With great power comes great responsibility." In essence, they are all mirror images of him.

I never get the "X defeated Y - so he has to be stronger than Z because he got defeated by Y in that specific circumstance!" Characters are always treated like there is something like a singular definite "power" stat by which you can rank everyone. That is just not the case. It's much more akin to Rock/Paper/Scissors - a character may be incredibly strong in one circumstance, but utterly useless in another. Sure, at some point characters become so strong that their strengths almost counter anything that could exploit weaknesses by default, but even there you can find interesting interactions... Let's look at that example at 11:06 : The Hulk has a history of being knocked out. Overloading his brain in various ways is one of the few ways to defeat him (given you're quick enough that he doesn't pass a certain threshold in rage). A well aimed and powerful electric shock from Electro can certainly do that. Spider-Man on the other hand has no such ability at his disposal, forcing him to face the Hulk head-on - and the latter massively eclipses almost all Spidey's powers... However, pairing Electro and Spider-Man against each other, you again have a different scenario: Electro has a power output that Spidey can't compare to, but that's about all. Between the spider-sense and peak agility/mobility, Peter largely negates that, dodging all his attacks - long enough to figure out a way to take him out using his genius-level intellect. Of course that doesn't always have to be the case and small changes in the exact circumstances can vastly tip the balance - let's say next time the Hulk is just a tiny bit too angry for that shock to knock him out; or Electro visited some trap laying 101 courses where he learned how to prepare the battlefield to his advantage... It would all go very differently... From this angle things like Galactus beating Dormammu in his home dimension make enough sense: An energy based entity attacked an energy absorber, noticing far too late that he had been feeding him his own power... Paper covers Rock.

It's also one of the many reasons I've been subbed for the last few years. Some characters & stories you cover could very well be someone's introduction to the video's topic. The best uploads like that are the ones that tell you just enough that you'd wanna read for yourself, no major spoilers and have some humor. Hopefully I'll run into you someday like @ a convention or something 😂!! I'll be sure to speak, if I recognize you, since I recall in another video that you get a kick out of those kinda things! I love comics. There's an optimism to them. In real life few, if any, would be able to not be corrupted by actually having super powers. It may take longer for some but powers like the ones we see in comics would make everyone do selfish things more and more until they just felt better than other humans. It's natural. The food chain and such. I feel like that's the reason no one actually has super powers. Our species wouldn't be ready for it.

Yall have some conservative thoughts. I mean studies have shown that criminals and drug addicts are much more likely to reform when given treatment and rehabilitation. Electro seems to me to be one of the villians who could actually be a good candidate for this kind rehabilitation. Based off what Rob said he seems like he is a villian born of circumstance, who continues villianous acts because it is the most beneficial to him. Homeboy needs better opportunities and therapy. Of course all of that hinges on whether or not the person wants to/believes they can be better

I like that Sony is fleshing out the villains of Marvel . In a way they are giving these villains more context and heart than even the comics in some instances or they have the opportunity to . When Venom was released I figured maybe because Marvel is so big in catalog of characters Sony and Marvel Studios could be teaming up to bring the marvel universe to the big screen proper with Disney producing the more family friendly stories and Sony handling the more mature stories . But they could actually add more layers to the villains simultaneously giving them the Thanos treatment to make the audience question the morality of whatever future contention arises between the heroes and the villains . Giving these characters more depth and motivation on top of more comic accurate narration of significant events will please fans, intrigue casual movie goers, and take the lions share of movie and merchandise profits to put It nicely.
