Funny vlog..lol😅..I'm not gardener but I do know people and now myself use hay , as a mulch, to lay in there beds as slugs don't like it and it protects the bed from drying out...also lettuce is a cold weather crop, too much sun isn't good I believe. Let's brake that weed Wacker out, looking a bit in need as slugs hide and wait in high grass plotting their attack..lol

Spiders take care of the bugs that would like to eat your garden or bite you. I consider them friends and let them be in my house, even give them names. However if they are toxic (black widow, brown recluse, hobo spiders) or wander about too much (wolf spider, trapdoor spider), they get put out.

It's mind blowing that anyone would have to wait any amount of time to have a place to garden. I think we in the USA take for granted the space we generally have. I love your sense of humor and watching you garden. We have a pretty good size garden. I am absolutely terrified of spiders!
@stephaniegee2275 ай бұрын
I have a lifelong aversion to spiders as well. Each spring, I go out onto the porch and state loudly and clearly that they - the spiders - can do whatever they like away from my porch and its stairs, they aren't allowed in the people area. And, of course, the cheeky little buggers try me to see if I mean it. Staying on top of eliminating their webs helps a LOT. And while we have used peppermint oil with moderate success, we always dilute the oil and make a spray out of it. But maybe I should try your method of spider exorcism next time! I really enjoyed it!!

I'm going to try copper tape with the slugs this year (and yes, there are some that are underground - keel slugs). I'm going to cut the top and bottom off a 2l plastic bottle to leave a plastic tube, put a band of copper tape around it and pop it over my young plants. I've tried most other things - I chop slugs as I find or throw them to the hens. They lay up to 500 eggs a year so every one you leave is a small army to come back!

Brilliantly funny as ever! For the peppermint oil use sparingly on cotton balls - place a few drops on them and pop them in the crevices where the spiders like to hang out or stuff them in with a stick! You made me laugh chucking it around like holy water but it could get on your skin and clothes, it can be staining and dangerous especially if it got in your skin/eyes/nose/mouth so please be careful. You can also dilute it in vodka about 20 drops in 10ml (do this first it makes it water soluble) and then dilute that mix in half a litre of water and pop in a spray bottle then spritz your shed each time you go.
