Absolutely right, what Miguel did was basically the reverse of what Kingpin tried to do in the first movie - instead of pulling a family through, he went to them. THAT was more anomalously and did more damage that whatever Miles could’ve done.

@@freebird6591 but he doesn’t know, not really. Miguel may be right on some things but he’s not right about everything. Throughout the movie Peter B. and Gwen say things and question how accurate Miguel’s theory is. First with Peter, he says that “hey I’ve changed my story completely BECAUSE I met Miles, and my universe is fine.” Remember in the last movie Peter B revealed he and MJ got divorced because he couldn’t do kids, then after being proud of Miles he reconsiders and with a pep talk from Miles he goes back and makes up with MJ and they do have a kid. His universe is fine, no black holes destroying things. With Gwen, she even outright asked him, “hey do you know for sure what will happen if Miles does stop his dad dying?” Miguel said “I don’t want to find out.” He’s going off of a hunch, granted after seeing what happened in Pavitr’s universe it holds some ground, but a hunch nonetheless. And at the end of the movie when she gets sent back to he universe and he “cannon event” is seemingly stopped just by her dad resigning but her universe is still okay. Something is happening for sure and some actions cause it, but Miguel doesn’t know for sure. Hell, he himself could be the walking anomaly after living in another universe with his family when he’s supposed to be dead in that universe. What’s happening is Miguel had to go through a second heartbreak when he realized his family was dying again but because of his actions so he tunnel visioned and came to the conclusion that some events HAD to happen. He thinks Miles is an anomaly because his spider came from another universe so Miles has to be an anomaly. But he showed it himself that Miles IS going through cannon events, his uncle died and now he thinks with Miles’ dad’s death that he’ll “fix” the anomaly and not cause his universe to die. But Miles has been spiderman for some time and his universe is fine, and even with DNA from another universe via the spider he’s not glitching or anything when in his own universe. So what’s that mean then?

This movie was absolutely amazing, spectacular, ultimate even. The animation is perfection (even stayed for the primary credits for the extra stylish art), the story is compelling, has another banger of a soundtrack, and it doesn’t always take it self super seriously so it gets in all the little comedic moments that actually got laughs out of most of the people in my theater. Plus all the Easter eggs need a video in in of itself as someone who’s been indulging in Spider-Man comics and media since I was a kid trying to pick out everything was a lot of fun. The only thing I can really say about it is that if you didn’t know it was a three part film it blue balls you hard plus the earth 42 sequence was pretty telegraphed but it’s really a drop of oil in the ocean that is this movie. Will be counting down the days till Beyond the Spider-verse comes out next year.

Here's a few fun things I observed and thought about. I already wrote an extremely long review on sals channel so I thought id talk about some other stuff. So apparently, according to Wikipedia the therapist spiderman was none other than Sal's favorite spider character Ezekiel from J. Michael Straczynski! I don't know how or why, but apparently, that's him. Also, I personally was okay with how they portrayed 2099. I enjoyed it and love it. But I wondered afterward if he wasn't exactly the real Miguel. There are a few signs that you can point to that might be revealed later. Such as Miguel trying to bite vulture. The cops saying he's doesn't look like a good guy. Gwen calling him a vampire was really odd, especially considering the fact that he's just flat out not. His earth has its own distinct designation. Ezekiel is there. I'm not gonna lie. I kinda think he's Morlun. I know that sounds really stupid, and I dont want that. But hey, it's Spider-verse. It took them 3 years to develop Spider Punk rendering. That's awesome for some reason to me. I think it shows how much they cared about how this movie looked felt and moved. I guess we have to give Avi Arad some semblance of credit for suggesting the Spot! Sometimes broken house appliances can be useful. I actually loved that they pantsed Ben Reilly. Just seeing him him motion, look and act like him was enough for me

I loved this movie it gave me everything I ever wanted especially seeing my favorite character mayday parker spider-girl even as a baby finally adapted in animation makes me so happy because I love Spider-girl Mayday parker in the comics and seeing her in animation is really awesome and proves marvel comics is wrong and shocker having peter parker spider-man being a actual adult and being a parent actually works for the character which makes me so happy because i get to see more of my girl mayday parker spider-girl in animation which is really awesome and tons of fun, also i was so happy to see both Miles Morales Spider-Man and Spider-gwen maybe becoming a couple in the future would be really awesome and tons of fun at least in my opinion. :)

I had this mad idea while I was watching this for how they might "resolve" the universe. Basically I’m predicting the movie is going to deal with the consequence of Earth 42 having no Spider-Man, miles gets saved, reconciles the loss of his uncle and moved on to save is dad, bringing him into conflict with both Spot and 2099 Spider-Man. The mad idea I had spring to mind (and I’d be astounded if Sony has the balls to invoke this) is what if Miguel got it wrong? What if breaking the "cannon events" isn’t what unravels a universe? That massive whole in the universe in spider India's universe was caused by Spot using the collider and what actually killed the universe Miguel tried to live in was actually the incursions the MCU are invoking? You’d end the movie and the spiders would return to the lobby and they end up echoing what Spider-Man UK did in the comics where he comes out of the spider-verse and goes "dude, what happened to my universe?" Then you go into Marvel's Secret Wars to explain what happened. And if they did that, you know Sony would want to cameo their characters in some way in that movie. I know, unlikely that idea will happen, but It was an insane idea that I just had. There’s now way Sony would be that ballsy…is there?

Miguel in this movie is post comics Miguel, or at least that's my justification. I wasn't too keen on him based on the trailers but the movie did a good job of showing his motivation and why he's so different. Also, they called him a vampire because they're ignorant of his origin and how his powers work. He's like the Batman of the society. The rest are all just trying to infer what his deal is. Dude's got fangs? I guess he's like a vampire. Hell, I'd bet half the JLU thought Batman was a vampire or at the very least wouldn't be surprised if he was. I'm reminded of New Adventures of Batman episode with all the kids telling vastly different stories about what Batman is like.

Because all Miles wanted was to see his friends again and be around people who know what he's going through as Spider-Man. He wanted a community to be around and relate to, the same one he found in ITSV with the OG Spider-Gang. And then when he finally gets to that community he's been looking for since ITSV, he finds out that not did his friends have the opportunity to come see him, but they didn't because of Miguel's bullshit and the entire Society blames Miles for something that's not his fault to begin with in anyway. All while ostracizing him without even giving him a chance. He was alone at the end of ITSV and sadly he's alone at the end of this movie too, and now it's because of inter-dimensional racism and shoving the blame of the multiverse anomalies on someone who just wanted to belong. I know Gwen and the rest are going to apologize to Miles by explaining things and helping him out, but the entire society should apologize to him too.

I'm a bit late but this is my take about the point in 3:50 Miguel is just trying to justify his shortcomings so are the other spidermen they failed to do something so they cope behind the idea of "canon events" in order to ease the pain when in actuality they just f'ed up I really hope Miles beats the hell out of Peter B , Gwen and the rest physically to make them understand mentally that they were in fact "wrong" the whole time and Miles was actually "right" in the sense that "you should try to do everything in your power to change fate and make the world better rather than cope behind a made up delusion" the "Chris Pine" spiderman had the right mindset of helping others saving others by trying your absolutely best also Miguel was the first anomaly he's just trying to direct his shortcomings towards Miles because he has the mindset to try everything in order keep going and doing what feels right also Miles did have a canon event of uncle Aaron so he isn't an anomaly Miguel is just making things up and the others are following him for some weird reason 21:35 and Jessica's character Call me crazy but the whole Jessica pregnant thing could be a fail safe to the whole jealousy love triangle thing they tried to explore with Miles Gwen and Hobie if the backlash was really bad about that they might have said well nothing really happened because Hobie is actually Jessica's husband I know sounds weird but I feel that's the case and the whole love triangle thing did get some attention so I wonder what they will do with it Jessica fighting did throw me off I know she has super strength and stuff like that but still 25:00 another thing everyone says that in order to become a proper spiderman you should loose the one who are intended to be most by the canon event but Pav isn't anything less of a spiderman compared to the others even if he hadn't lost anyone yet and people might argue that stopping a canon event made that huge hole yes that could be true but Spot was also there and we don't know if it's his power or if it actually is a collapse of that universe 31:25 Spider Miles and Prowler Miles should team up that would be epic Spider Miles looking confident and cocky at the end because he got his lightning powers back is my favourite part there will be an epic fight scene guaranteed and my theory is that Miles was originally supposed to be the spiderman and our Miles was supposed the be the prowler but the roles switched 5:30 and 34:00 as to how Miles will save his father is the question Gwen "saved" her father by running away which caused Cpt Stacy to retire so he got saved yeah I know another "Cpt" might die but we don't know if the "event" will occur exactly as intended or now the Cpt is different will it be a different scenario also Gwen running away and changing a canon events characters should've caused a destruction of the universe but it didn't so I wonder if it's the statues of these characters that effect the so called "canon events" or if this thing really is hoax as I suspect My theory is Spot will essentially be a be all end all character and fix the multiverse in a way that certain things can happen with it being destroyed for example probably a spiderman could travel to another dimension without glitches granted they would need a device to do so but in doing so would not cause any irregularities The whole story could be about every spiderman getting to the mindset of the original spiderman from movie 1 the "Chris Pine" one because that man had a smile on his face and did everything possible to save everyone and help everyone and the helping part is important I feel alot of the spider society neglects helping fellow spidermen for the sake of not causing a disruption in the "canon event" even Gwen tried to stop Miles from saving Inspector Singh so that he would die but if the original spiderman was there I feel like he would've tried to save inspector Singh

They had two Jessica Drew's the one that was pregnant and the usual one. I thought the pregnant one was just done that way as call back to the original Spider-woman that debut 3 years before Jessica Drew who also wore her hair like that. And gwen clearly has a crush on Miles too lol. She hugged him instantly before he could finish his sentence AND when he was talking to Spiderbyte for too long she yanked him away out of jealousy. But by the end of the movie Miles is pretty much fed up with them all including Gwen, so she's going to have a lot to make up for in the 3rd.

And Miles hasn't suffered any real loss personally and is going to find out he can't always save both. Looking at it as a Spider-Gwen movie fixes the main issue I have with this movie, which is it felt incomplete. The stuff with Miles and his parents are my favorite part and it felt incomplete (because obviously there is the second part of this movie that will do the heavy lifting). The problem is at first I didn't think about it like that and I don't think the general audience will spend the time like we do. Instead, they would just feel unsatisfied with the conclusion because it doesn't resolve Miles's story.

I thought that the whole "cannon" thing was kind of dumb. Miguel's whole thing is changing cannon. He has a squad of spider people who go to alternate universes to fix the cannon, which itself is altering the cannon. Him jumping from universe to universe should cause more problems than not doing anything at all.

I think you misunderstood their goal. The whole reason for the spider society is to maintain the canon events, not change them. They chase irregular patterns, or anomalies, that show up in universes where they're not supposed to be and correct them by taking them out and sending them back to their own universe. And within those universes are canon events that absolutely should not change or else the risk of a universal collapse could occur. Chasing anomalies through universes isn't a problem until they start to alter those canon events.

@Emo Elmo I just watched the movie again last night, and it just got me more irritated by the whole canon event thing. There are so many alternate versions of Spider-Man. Not all of them lost Uncle Ben. Not all of them knew a police captain. It's absurd to say that in the vast infinite multiverse that only one thing is possible. I have a feeling that the next movie is going to cover this and that we'll find out Miguel just has some serious tunnel vision. The people who decide canon are those within the universe. Not an algorithm. Not a disgruntled Spider-Man. What Miguel is suggesting is some messed up version of predetermination.

If you guys notice during spots little origin at alchemex, a person with a lab coat next to him has miles G morales braids hanging off their head in a similar way. Not saying it means miles G morales has multiverse traveling powers or means but it was a weird intentional choice the animators made so just interesting

To sate the Ben Reilly fans, to me Ben Reilly WAS Chris Pine blonde Spider-Man. Miles's journey is about being the only spider-man at some point and that was that " Peter"/Spider-Man's journey as well. Fulfilling the expectations of BEING Spider-Man, trying to BE Peter Parker at his best filling in the shoes of another person that was him (like Miguel when he tried to live in another universe, filling in for a version him that was dead shoes) but not managing to be truly the same as them. To me, the Peter Parker of that universe would not have the time to make room for apprenticing another Spider-Man. And he would not be able to achieve all of the things possible due to the lack of hindsight of being the original Peter Parker at the very least very soon in his life. Ben Reilly though HAS the hindsight from not being exactly Peter Parker himself, and was able to be the greatest Spider-Man possible because he did not allow himself to be stuck trying to be someone else. That blonde "Peter Parker" was kinda an anomaly, and his uncle Ben probably was Peter Parker.

This is not the longest animated movie ever made. "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time" and "Space Battleship Yamato - Final Chapter" are both longer than this
