This musical is not as bad as people make it out to be. It just needs some fine tuning. Check out my full review coming soon at broadwayboi.blogspot.com/

This whole thing had that Batman and Robin quality to it, where it manages to look incredibly expensive and laughably cheap at the same time.

There is something about this part of the musical that I really like and I find myself singing this often

This show was hilarious :D The production design ranges from intricate to bafflingly cheap, and some of the songs, if not masterpieces, do manage to wiggle into your brain. I still hum "Freak Like Me" every now and then for its camp value, and the memory of the Green Goblin resembling a porcupine. Also, isn't Peter' secret identity kinda out after he spins webs in his school??

Don't put logic into Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. It doesn't work like that.

Hal Emmerich To be honest, I can't say or say whether anything story-wise in the show "worked"...it just sort of came in skipping, tripped, sprained both its ankles, sang a couple of ballads, and then limped off into infamy :D

It happened in Sam Rami's Spider-Man. He shot a web at a lunch tray and walked away as it followed him.

T vampasta Yeah...but he had sleeves. It would've been easy for people to think that was just silly string or elastic.

From this scene it looks and sounds like a high school committee of amateur playwrights were given a budget and a B'way theater.

@kevinprice667410 жыл бұрын
When I saw the show the inflatable wrestler seemed extremely amateurish to me and I hated the fact they quickly rushed over Uncle Ben's death but in the end I'd say it was a pretty good show although the music wasn't too memorable.

That's pretty cool. Does sound suspiciously similar to Vertigo. Bono, you cheeky boy...

lol.. this looks like complete crap. Seriously they couldnt find one guy to play a big wrestler? they had to have an inflatable play toy? that alone would have completely ruined the show for me..
@roxanneweasley91910 жыл бұрын
It was supposed to be like that. It was a joke and it gave it the comic book feel that they wanted.
@Wolfgame3010 жыл бұрын
***** whatever.. there was no "comic book" feel to that at all .. lol at least when reading comics you can suspend disbelief for a few minutes and enjoy the story. That scene was just stupid.. kinda like what you would expect in the movie "airplane" with the inflatable auto pilot. which was a silly spoof movie. I didnt think they were trying to spoof spiderman with this show..but perhaps I am wrong and they were

They had the theives in the musical look like that too.

Agreed. I made the mistake of seeing it. By intermission, I'd given up on it getting any better and my eyes hurt from rolling them so often. What surprised me though was, when talking to the people sitting around me, I seemed to be the only person being critical of it -- the other people were enjoying the show, or at least they said they were. I gave up and went to the bar, hoping a bunch of alcohol would at least make the second act more bearable or funnier. It didn't.
@mathdance11 жыл бұрын
why the inflatable. Fake legs gave us illusion of heightened reality, the inflatable wrestler ruined all illusion of story telling.

box office receipts don't account for the running costs -- and with a show this big, i wouldn't doubt if it costs more than a million a week just to put on those eight shows. I'm sure they're profiting, but I wouldn't say it's made 3 times its initial investment back.
@LMBlankenhorn11 жыл бұрын
Bouncing Off the Walls wasn't a good number....didn't look cool at all, and the song was just okay. Only the songs by the Goddess Spider (I can't remember her name since I saw it a long time ago) were pretty good. The Green Goblin had some good songs but other than that, it was a weak show.
