My wife and I have used the Peak Design Clutch and camera straps for five years or more 4 to 5 times a week, none of them have worn out yet, Would highly recommend them.

Thanks, that's exactly the input I needed as I have several camera bodies and have 2 Spiderpro straps but needed another one for my 3rd body. Since I use Manfrotto tripods, I'd have to spend another $30 CDN for the tripod plate to fit the Peak Design. I'll pick up another Spiderpro hand strap.

Think you are a little harsh on Peak. Have it on both a DSLR and mirror-less for past 2-3 year. Works very well, Easy and smooth in operation. Agree re the silly hex key, but will say that it has never come loose and I have never had to adjust it. Still, do carry the Peak little grey sock in my bag at all times.

Everyone always complains about the peak hex key, just grind a slot in it and use a coin. It takes five minutes and then problem solved.

I use The Peak Design Clutch along with The Capture belt clip for walk around shooting. I adapted my leather pants, punched two holes so The Capture sits parallel with the belt. I can just drop the tripod plate into the clip on my belt. Sort of "Quick draw McGraw" style! The camera sits with the lens pointing down the side of my leg making it easy to walk freeing me from carrying the camera.The Clutch can be used like a dangle carry handle if you are confident of your grip. Very useful as I use a GM lens on my Sony with heavy glass. So the Clutch adds securuty when shooting and the Capture is brilliant storage on the move. Makes for relaxed street photography. Had this set up a couple of years no sign of wear.

Do both come with a plate for underneath? Also, can you attach a neck strap to both too? I’d not like to compromise if possible.

Good topic. Years ago I tried a few commercial ones but didn't like the fact that they used the bottom camera mount threads for attaching them. I've made a short telescoping monopod that's always screwed in this spot which helps to stabilize the camera. So I made my own. It's a nylon strap about 3" round & attaches to the metal eyelet. An added short bit of strap has a snap on type end which is used for a shoulder or neck strap. My 2 middle fingers go through the 3" loop. This allows the back of my 2 fingers to help support the camera - Lumix Fz2500 - while also leaving the thumb & 2 fingers free to push buttons on the camera.

@@AnthonyMorganti It's less cumbersome & freer than the store sold ones. I found some felt pads at the hardware store that have sticky adhesive on one side. I cut a short section the width of my nylon loop & attached it to the inside. This adds some cushioned padding for the back of my 2 ' supporting ' fingers.

I have three Peak Design Cuffs. They attach to the strap point of any camera. I move them between cameras, from 5ds with battery grip to Olympus OM-D E-M5. I thought weight might be a problem with the Canon, but for me it's not. If it's windy and I'm using a tripod, it's easy to unclip and pocket the strap. I have a PD strap, haven't used it for years. I am now wondering about carrying two cameras, I have a BlackRapid strap, don't like it very much.

My PD adjusts really easily. My only complaint I find it does slip loose easier than I’d like, but a quick pull on the strap to re-tighten. It’s far from perfect.

I have used the Clutch for two years, on both my D810 and now on my a7riii. I find it to be comfortable in use and quick to attach/remove. The fact that it has the Peak Design attachment tabs means that I cam quickly swap from using the PD Slide (strap) to using the Clutch in very little time. I also have the PD Clip to allow my cameras to rapidly attach/detach from my back pack when out hoofing it. Peak Design have nailed it for me. Their designs are excellent and the products well made. I have a bag full of other straps and harnesses that I have bought over the years but PD is my current weapon of choice. I would also add that I raised a question with PD regarding deterioration of a grip on my original Slide (it was not affecting my use of the Slide, it just turned tacky) and they sent me a new one within two days. Excellent no quibble service.

The PD one does NOT transfer QUICKLY from camera to camera due to the fiddly top fixing.

I like to keep an L bracket on my camera most of the time. Would either of these still be able to work?
@AnthonyMorganti

Yes, an L-bracket should work with both hand straps.

Really appreciate this. I've tried the Clutch but find it very uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so, especially with a big lens. I will give the SpiderPro a try.

I have the clutch and love it. Always on my camera although granted I’m not a pro and have a Sony A7iii with various zooms so lighter than your system. Adjusting on the go is a breeze and it’s very comfortable.

Sounds like you were stuck in your Decision before you Tried the clutch. You didn’t mention how long you tried the clutch for. I understand if you have a product you like and your set on what you like, but seems to me you were promoting the spider. To each their opinion. But at least actually use before you bash. I’ve used the strap that came with the original 1d till it fell apart. And others I can’t remember. But I found the clutch 6 years ago and I won’t use anything else cause to me and a lot of others like it.
