spike is probably one of the greatest characters ever written. he's got so many sides to him, and so many personalities that just all add up to one brilliant character. plus, he's hot ;)

He was supposed to be a disposable villian. And they originally wanted to kill him in season 2 or 3. He wasn't actually written that way. Some aspects of Spike came from James Marsters. He had some ideas of how to play the character right from the beginning and they kept him in the show cause it worked out so well.

I just don't know how anyone can watch this and not see why people love Spuffy. It isn't about that awful hate sex in season 6, it's about their intense chemistry that prevailed right through to the end of the show, and carries on in the comics.

+falling black veil sirens bring me panic! But season 7 Spuffy is the most mature and healthy part of their relationship... Two people who did wrong, hurt each other and paid the price, and are now ready to forgive and heal... Of course, "the rape thing" is no fun, but I think it's dealt with pretty well. It's not taken lightly, or brushed off like it wasn't significant. Everybody seems to understand that they did something wrong, and are trying to go forward with that knowledge, atone. There are consequences, everything doesn't get magically better after a few scenes, they don't get involved again right at the start of the season. It takes time. But I think their relationship in that season it's the most endearing and touching example of love of the whole show: even after all the pain and hardship, all the adversity, they manage to pull through and end up somewhere good by the end.

+hatice bayrak Beause with bangel they didn't give us a reason that they were in love. They were just two people who loved each other for some reason. And it didn't help that when Angel was introduced he was just a one dimensional mysterious guy. Like even by comparison I cared more about Spike when he came on the screen than I cared about Angel. I mean, once he got his own show he was cool, but I liked watching Spike from the start.
