One of the most underrated actors ever. His range was incredible. Every role he had made each movie better.
@cenortheast799 Жыл бұрын
I've been reading interviews with people who worked with him and they say he was always underrated, always put in a box, just to in the end blow everyone away. They put a dancer's body in a yuppie suit and it looked ridiculous, but he was the right man - the ONLY man - for Ghost. He tried to sell his (amazing) song "She's like the wind" to 2, 3 other motion pictures, depending on who you ask, just to be ignored. Finally his chance came with Dirty Dancing. Not gold, not platinum - 8 times platinum. There are 8 platinum records on the walls somewhere.

I can’t watch Heath Ledger movies anymore bc it bums me out that he died so young. At least Patrick Swayze had a chance to live and love. He still died way before what should have been his time and that’s really sad, but he was able to have a legacy. Like for me Dirty Dancing was the first grown up movie I got to see. My fam was dirt poor, way to poor for cable but my aunt I’d visit was rich and had every cable channel. (Plus ice cold AC & a swimming pool->best summer vacay ever.) I had to ask her before I watched any movie and when I asked her about dirty dancing she told me I had to ask my mom. My mom was strict, really strict and I thought she’d say no. But I guess she was really missing me and was feeling soft, bc she actually said yess. I was so excited to see a PG-13 movie but more then that, the love story was everything to my pre-teen heart. I was a romantic kid and everything about that movie left me feeling wistful and filled with longing. Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Grey reallly made a mark on me. So I can watch an old movie with Swayze in it and not feel overwhelmed by how tragic his death was. It was tragic but not as tragic if he had died 20 years earlier. At least that’s how it feels to me.
@Wangdoodle4445 жыл бұрын
Jessica Nicole Patrick had much more dignity that Heath. Patrick wouldn’t use drugs to hone in a role. He just honed it in clean. Heath never got to the same plain as Patrick’s unfortunately. Both very tragic losses, but not on the same lvl.

such a beautiful and complicated man taken way too soon. I fell in love with him in North and South. He will live on in my heart as Orry Maine forever!!

karen taylor Yes! Then I tried ready the third book ‘ Heaven and Hell ‘ that never made it to the tv series and just a few pages into it they kill him off. I didn’t read any further!! Not doing North and South without Orry!! 😂
@adamfanalways5 жыл бұрын
Wendy Teeter I bought the mini series dvd set and there is a part 3 and they kill him right off at the beginning and you don’t see Patrick you see a figure of a man that is suppose to be him! Part 3 was just so awful, terribly written but part 1 and 2 was just great and I still have those DVD’s and still watch them now and again!

He was the greatest actor of all time for me. All his movies were exciting to me. Because he was more realistic and sincere in front of the camera than anyone else. He was a very special person.

I was living in LA at the time of his death and remember how I was at Pierce Brothers Westwood Memorial Park talking with a senior member of staff when a van pulled into the drive and park up. Another member of staff came up and discreetly pointed at the van and whispered 'Ma'am, Patrick is here' ... she explained that she had to attend to this matter and apologised for cutting out talk short. She then accompanied her colleague to the office and I overhead her ask if Lisa would be coming. I put two and two together and as I walked past touched the side of the van and cried.
