IMO the nation was sick and tired of Blair's New Labour before the 2010 election and the only thing the Conservatives had to offer was the 'heir of Blair', Cameron. The country is still looking for a real alternative.

The mistake they obviously made was to get rid of boris with the help of labour. I detest everything labour stand for. Policies if envy. Its a crime to have money although starmer has plenty and he lied about his working class background. He's a hyprocrite and opportunist and y want someone like that to be prime minister Whatever sunsks faults anyone is better than starmer. I am just an ordinary person Ivinghoe in a very ordinary house. But I have come into some money so starmer is after it. He's bound to increase inheritence tax . He's started on private schools. Inheritence tax next. Then reducing women's rights. And then letting everyone in . Putting immigrants before the indegious population y can bank on that agreeing woth the national trust about the wrongs of our empire. A patriotic person should not vote for him.

I start to believe in karma - the Tories thought they could betray their voters indefinitely - but now they are facing oblivion. It seems to prove that you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Of course the country will pay a terrible price. The UK survived the blitz, but it's not clear whether it can survive 5 years of open borders Labour.

When will British Politicans learn (as they ought to have done in 2016!) that the Electorate is not solely concerned with 'economics'? Most Britons love the Country bequeathed to us by our forebears: and we also vote with our hearts. This provides a role for Political Philosophy: yet not one politician addresses this matter. This is astonishing because it is in their philosophies that one might detect clear water between political parties.

This lady needs educating about the 2020 election. DT was up by 600,000 votes in Pennsylvania when the polls closed. There was 1.8 million postal votes to be counted, he needed just 40 % of them to win, he lost by 82,000 votes. Michigan DT was up by 300,000 votes when the polls closed awaiting the postal votes, he lost by 155,000. Georgia DT was up by 100,000 votes when the polls closed , he lost by 12,000 after the postal votes. Wisconsin DT was up by 117,000 votes when the polls closed, he lost by 21,000. Dt got 12% of the African Americans votes, yet these postal votes all broke 70, 80 , 90 % for Biden. Did the Federal election commission do analytics on the postal votes ?? NO. So for her to say it’s outrageous for DT to say he had the election stolen is unkind at best. She is clearly uneducated on what happened but still happy to comment.

Inaya was spot on in a lot of her comments. I too worry about the absolutist stance on immigration that is taking hold in challenger parties. I completely understand the desperation leading to this binary approach but the fact is that migration is not a binary issue. There are dozens of visa categories and legal paths to permanent residence and/or citizenship. To reform the system every single category needs to be reviewed and changes need to be phased in -- you cannot apply changes to immigration law overnight. Meanwhile the issue of illegal channel crossings and subsequent spikes in asylum claims is a whole other issue. Without pulling out of the ECHR and even the Geneva Convention, it becomes difficult to dismantle the NGO and legal machinery sustaining (or one could also say exploiting) the phenomenon. These challenger parties throw around slogans like "net zero immigration" or "a moratorium on immigration" without explaining how the hell it would be implemented. Yet they don't have to explain it since they won't implement it, in which case all these slogans achieve is to agitate a disaffected population. We need proper debate to get proper solutions.

2 obvious identicals of Lambe & Starmer is that they are Lawyers. Now, most would agree that they all seem to have rhe knack of lying and somehow able to justify the lie(s). Add that base to the known lies that politicians always vomit out..!

7:36 The perception of either Mr Blair or Sir Keir Starmer being 'centrist' Labour leaders is wholly unfounded. I am not sure if the speaker is reporting a perception or maintaining that is the situation. Both Blair and Starmer are very much of the hard Left.

Labour won’t win because swing tories vote for them, Labour will win because tories won’t vote at all. Neither of the main parties offer anything the public wants. If Labour win, we will have smugness and blame for their entire term. If we vote the Tories back in, we will have the smugness that the electorate believe they’re a ‘safe pair of hands’. They are not. We should vote reform in every area where a candidate is fielded simply to at least try for an outcome that addresses our society first.

Like every other party Reform has some good policies and some bonkers ones. There really don't seem to be any sensible parties but I suppose at least Reform hasn't (yet) betrayed its voters.

Yeah, the broken promises on migration have indeed fuelled more extreme responses because it's at this point needed. I recently voted in my country, and I didn't vote for anybody who was looking to reform or better manage migration - I went with anti-migration. Whatever the long-term solution may be, for now we need a moratorium on non-EU migration, including asylum claims. Fiddling with existing processes, promising to finally begin deporting failed applicants, or trying to slow the inwards flow is not going to work.

Nigel definitely looked hands down best. The rest looked hopeless and we’re saying a lot without saying anything. The Greens and SNP in particular are living on a different planet. Thought the it wasn’t one of the more biased debates the bbc tried other ways of getting their message across e.g. 5 left wing parties and whenever Nigel spoke the camera zoomed into the same goon shaking his head when all around wasn’t. Didn’t happen for anyone else. Their should be a debate where each potential cabinet member renters the platform when a certain question is asked eg. Defence secretary steps up when defence question is given

Come on mate, you didn't even know what an arboretum was a few weeks ago, so clearly you hadn't heard of the National Arboretum. It's only been around for more than 20 years. Labour trying to pretend that they love the flag and the country. It's ok, you don't have to like the country or know anything about historical events but don't try kidding everybody that it matters to you or your party.

Labour we'll eat itself as usual. I remember the 1980s Militant fight. Labour will need the muslim vote as well as lgptqrdfjrj whatever it is this week. If Labour get in so many of their voters are diametrically opposed to each other
