Steve! I do not know how to thank you enough for the two that you built me to recover from the accident where my fingers were torn back, half my skull was removed, 57 broken bones... I have recovered greatly since then because of them and what you did for us.

OMG this is supremely awesome - I was just looking at vids of tibetan singing bowls (my mom brought me one back from her trip as a souvenir) and was reminded of steel drums through a related vid and then related to that ... and so on. And here we are ! I think I have found the instrument of my soul here - I want one of these... very much . The internet really has brought the far away that we might never have seen much closer that we might be shown so much more now

Steve, I've been looking for some hanks and steel tongue drums that would sound as I wish and yours are, in one word, incredible. I just found out that you have some health problems and I wanted to give you my best wishes and respect. Your work is magic. I don't really care so much for your instruments as I care for your happines and health. Best wishes.

Next to the Zagdrum these are my favorite. I'm sorry to hear you're not making them due to health issues. I can completely empathize with that. It's my own health issues that drew me to the Hang, and then like most, the tongue drums in the first place. But I do feel only a few really get it right, and you are DEFINITELY one of them. Should you ever make one again, by all means contact me! Good luck to you regardless. Lot's of love and healing energy. You should have someone playing for you! Take care my friend, thanks for the clips :)

i honestly think these zen tambour tongue drums sound wayy better than the handpan drums. the sound is smoother and doesn't have that undertone that sounds like a hand hitting a pot along with the nice sound.

The Spacedrum is a different type of drum called a "Handpan". This is a Zen Tambour, it is of the "Tongue drum" type. I do not have any on Amazon and and rarely put them on E-Bay. you can find out more at exoticvessels(dot)com/zentambour -Spike

Incredibly beautiful work. I like the fact that you provide a variety of scales and colors. Beautiful work. How about durability? Any sense, yet, as to how fragile they are? How easy is it to knock a tongue out of tune? Yours appear to be more substantial, less fragile, at least just looking at them.

Hi there, Your talking about two different types of drums here. The HAPI and Zen Tambour are tongue drums. The Hang is a HandPan. They are built very differently. One is built by making "dents" in the metal, the other is built by cutting tongues in the metal. Hope this helps some. -Spike

so beautiful. Where can i get one?
@robynvanhorn10 жыл бұрын
lovely !!!
@SpikeFinch12 жыл бұрын
Hi there, The difference is how they are made. A Hang or handpan uses "dents" to make the notes. A Tongue drum uses "tongues" that are cut into the steel. No Tongue drum will sound like a Hang, that is just how it works. However, the scales tuned are a different story..
