As a nurse I’m laughing at the casual way they’re treating their patient! At least a ten metre fall down a lift shaft: no neck brace, no X-ray to confirm the leg fracture, no CT scan of head, neck, chest or abdomen, sister prescribing S8 drug without doctors verbal order and the list goes on....... I know it’s only a 1970s soapie. I watched this as a kid and loved it! 👩🏼‍⚕️

Well this one easy Dennis had bet, it was meant to placed by his porter colleague, he pocketed the stake money, hoping the horse would lose, but it won, Dennis should have had 800 in winnings. This porter then stole the 800 from the bedside locker of an old girl patient, Sister Scott saw him taking the money, shortly before falling down a lift shaft that's being repaired The accident left Sister, Scott with a temporary memory lose. When Dennis was questioned about the theft, and found to have acquired a large amount of money, suspicion fell on him. Sister Scott got her memory back, and is now being threatened by the real thief. For this episode 2/10 Da..da..da...da..da..dar'..dar' Ta tar..Possoms

I wish I knew! It’s over 30 years since I last saw these episodes, but the new theme music and ‘operation’ titles start just after Andrew Baxter and Angela Parry depart, Peter Holland and Rod Langley arrive. It’s only a guess, but mid/late 1978 in Australia. Episode 400-ish?

@@Redsleather I did see an episode on YT aired by TSW which had the medicine bottle end titles but the credits scrolled down the screen. Rod Langley and Angela Parry were both in it.

@@pak8606 is that episode still available? If we could work out what episode number that was, we would have a good idea. I don’t remember much else than Rod Langley takes Angela Parry to a concert and she’s never seen again, the theme music & titles change virtually around the same time! I think the medical conference, which must have seriously blown the YD budget, was the next storyline afterwards? It’s a blur as it must be about 33 years since I saw these episodes!

@@Redsleather I don't think it's still on unfortunately but Angela is in it and Dennis might have made a pass at her. At the end Susan tells Rod he doesn't care about his father's feelings because he's fallen in love with Viki. TYD would have been much cheaper than Prisoner I'd have thought but SAD would have been the most expensive.

@@pak8606 TYD was extremely cheap but that was part of its appeal! Given it had no outdoor filming and a handful of sets for the first few years. Up until 1979 I don’t think they went outdoors apart from Tony & Tonia’s wedding and Helen Gordon and Chris Piper went to a conference on the Gold Coast in 1978. It’s a shame that TSW episode isn’t available any more but I think from your description it’s the late 300s and the medical conference is around 420, which means I still think the new theme music was introduced around episode 400. At a guess this would have been screened around August or September 1978 in Australia. It’s actually funny when TYD started getting some money spent on it, I didn’t like it as much and by 1981 episodes, I think it had run its course, especially given the classic characters had started to leave by then. Prisoner would have been more expensive and yes I would imagine S&D was Grundy’s most expensive soap of the early 1980s. Speaking of Angela Parry and Rod Langley, both just disappear off-screen, and both actors turn up in guest roles in Prisoner in 1982!
