One thing I love about EARL is the way he debuts songs at his live shows. Most artists feed off of the crowd knowing all the words to their tracks. There is something so beautiful about even his biggest fans not knowing what song he's performing. The whole crowd just stands there and takes it all in, in real time. He really raps everyword, to each song, without backround vocals. A true rap nerds concert. His live set is truly underrated, and will be talked about years down the line.

facts, I went to the Lisbon show, and when you just have no clue about the beat, it just makes you ascend into a dreamy vision of the future and where you will be when he finally drops

Exactly, one of the reasons I never miss a Earl show when he's in town. More artists would benefit from doing this. I love that Kanye does this too at his level.

It contrasts earthly imagery- steel, storms, fire, and labor- with celestial elements like constellations and wind. There’s a desire to rise above earthly burdens. He has found success, but like a welder whose rubber boots have melted from the heat of hard labor, he remains tethered to the earth, unable to escape the situation/earth. How do you interpret it g?
