@@mechadoggy my assumption is that it was Anthony that initially did a lot of the technical work to build Smosh at the beginning but Ian wanting to stay being sold to Defy or keep expanding it to be bigger than a smaller channel makes Anthony not happy with that. I remember somewhere Anthony saying he didn't like that they kept adding people. Again just my assumption, it was just creative differences and Ian ended up leaving Defy anyway so no biggie.

I wonder if Ian writing down “Anthony” points to a deeper implication of actual enmity between Anthony and Ian right now, which may be why Anthony isn’t appearing in Smosh videos even as a guest star. In one of Anthony’s recent videos (“I spent a day with fans”), Anthony just responded that he wants to do his own thing for a while when responding to a question of would he ever appear on a Smosh video again. Anthony doesn’t even say stuff like “maybe” or “someday.” (On the other hand, in one of the very first Smoshcast videos, Ian once said that Anthony is welcome if he ever wants to make videos with Smosh. That makes me think that Ian is more willing than Anthony to collaborate.)
