The word "Harambe" originates from _Harambee,_ a Swahili pharse meaning "(We) all pull together" that has been canonized as the official motto of Kenya. Being used colloquially as a call for compassion, fundraising and community services. The alternate spelling of "Harambe" was popularized by the 1988 titular song by Rita Marley; widow of Bob Marley. Harambe the gorilla was confirmed to be named after this song.
