In general I agree with you, but every once and a while Rick and Morty will put out an episode that does have something genuinely interesting to say, or even just that contains really witty and funny jokes. The show was never what Reddit claimed it was, but that doesn't mean it was never well written.

Ofc they choose interesting topics for their plots and they are fun on their own right, but most of what they show is either lolRandomXd or poking fun at something.
