Honestly, I'm not buying the "I had no clue that I had to be responsible" play because a lot of the things she did weren't just due to ignorance, she was being intentionally horrible and toxic thinking no one can touch her because she's famous. Ellen was the first stand-up comic I saw perform at 9 years old and gave me a lifelong love of stand-up. Her comedy is great and the groundwork she laid out with coming out on her television show was truly brave and worthy of praise. THAT being said everything that has come out about her after that has been truly disgusting. That behavior is unacceptable and it breaks my heart that she's not who 9-year-old me thought she was. She deserves the backlash. I do not feel sorry for her.
