Like how you respect the musky especially when it’s hot. Pretty color down their backs. Fight real hard. Great video!

Awesome how you love this sport and really care about how you handle the fish. They sure put up a good fight! Good job and great video.

Luke congratulations on the catch. Good on you for being as careful as possible with the Musky! A few close calls on more. Weird that they have a smell to them. No musky here so I enjoyed the video. So many close calls Luke! Really liked this video.

Great video! I'm new to muskie fishing and was wondering what type of line did you use?
@lukeslemmer4 ай бұрын
Thanks! I use just 20 lb flourocarbon. But on a legit Muskie setup I would use braid to a super heavy flouro leader.

Thought you were maybe fishing for paddlefish but then you caught musky on a bass fishing setup which was cool. Every musky I have ever gotten was on a bass lure and one time I caught one with corn.
@lukeslemmer4 ай бұрын
They sure are a ton of fun to catch on the lighter setups. Catching one on corn is crazy

Shelbyville? I have never fished below the dam, but I have a friend that lives 2 miles away from it. Great spot for walleye too.

My only musky came from this spillway, we were tied to the wall and it was swimming next to a school of shad. Dipped the net in front of it and it swam right in. Released after a quick pic

thats crazy that you were able to net it

@@lukeslemmer I was fishing with a friend from Chicago and was his idea to stick the net directly in front of it. He told me they bolt forward 90 percent of the time

how do you find these spots
@lukeslemmer4 ай бұрын
ive fished every lake within like 2 1/2 hours of where i live. that's the best way to figure out the best spots. but also talking with people, everyone has a good spot they might share
