This year I wanted to try fishing from several different lightweight fishing kayaks. Additionally I've been looking to add a kayak to my fleet that I could check on an airplane that could handle two anglers. In this video I unbox and give my first impressions of the ‪@AquaglidePlatinum‬ Blackfoot 130 inflatable fishing kayak.

I have this kayak for two years and quite happy with its durability and functionality. Used it in 2p, 1p, and 1p + dog configurations. Customized it with installing additional mount plates behind back seat for installing aluminum ski pole across pontoons, for reinforcement. On this pole I mount anchor, net holder, and optionally, trolling motor with PWM controller. To install rod holders, use YakAttack MightyMount attachment or directly bolt it to mount plates for Ozark Trail RH. Make sure bolt length for mount plates is not too long, to prevent damaging pontoons. All is good, now some nuisances. Positioning of mount plates, cost me few broken nails while paddling. Using frame seat in low position will cause metal legs cut through rubber feet, fixed it by inserting quarter coins into feet. Fin thumb screw plus tab design is a pain in the rear to use, fixed it with wide head bolt and wingnut. As always, great video, thanks Tyler!

I own the Blackfoot 130 and really love this inflatable kayak. I bought the Aquaglide because I did not want to deal with having to lift a regular heavy kayak onto roof racks or have to trailer it because of the weight. I also went ahead and bought the Blackfoot 160 for the additional room for my fishing & camping equipment along with my dog. I use a rubber yoga mat for added protection for the dogs feet. I got the Blackfoot 160 during black Friday and got $420 off along with free shipping. I use a digital electric air pump to inflate the kayak and I never strap the seat down because once you sit down on it the seat will not move. I also got the new snap in fins from Aquaglide that does not require the little screw down device to keep the fin in place. Can not beat the quality of these inflatable kayaks and they weigh 1/3 the weight of the heavy a normal hard kayak, 130 is 38lbs and the 160 is 50lbs.

I just got my 130 a few weeks ago. Had it out with my wife the other day. It was super comfortable and stable, loved it! I agree on the seat straps, I just looped them back around and attached a small carabiner in the loop. Just snap the the spot you want and snug, so far worked great. Enjoy the boat and paddle safe.

I've been doing most of my fishing lately from an inflatable kayak (Sea Eagle 385FT, non-angler version) and have been enjoying it. Started out paddle-trolling for trout but I've began using a trolling motor for 2-rod Kokanee and have mounted a tiny Scotty down rigger opposite the motor on the strap-on motor mount plank. Inflation time isn't a big deal to me, but post-use stowage is a chore. Making sure everything is dry before folding it up is a true PITA, often I will do a half-assed job at the launch and then re-inflate and dry at home.

I have looked at almost every inflatable fishing kayak out there before buying the BF130. This kayak hands down has the best design and features for an inflatable geared for fishing. Excellent customer support, Comfortable High seat, ultra stable due to large pontoons, excellent ergonomics, plenty of scotty mounts that are placed strategically, quality materials and build, padded drop stich floor, dries easily, high load capacity, us fin, useful cooler, side handles, quality valves. It's the best of fishing inflatables. You get what you pay for.

Looks like a great inflatable fishing machine! like that it had mounts in bow for scotty anchor adapter and the two mounts behind the seat will accept a trolling motor mount from company I think they're name is RailBlaza. I like how Aquaglide actually has a KZbin video where they show you how to motorize some of their different inflatable crafts. With this kayak you can get a transom style mount or a fin mount that would fit a Bixby electric drive system. Very Cool!

Thankyou for the review, I'm into wild camping and was brought up next to the sea. I want to go back to the days of my youth when kayaking was first and foremost a mode of transport for fishing/camping. I am planning to purchase this very kayak in UK early next year. Hoping to find those beaches that are not possible to reach by land and camp there and film my exploits. The Aquaglide Blackfoot 130 has everything I need for such trips. Once again thankyou for the review. Liked and Subscribed

Started using inflatables for fishing around 25 years ago. There were couple of reasons why, mainly not having much space available in the garage for storage and maybe more important I wanted to still be able to launch the boat relatively easily without getting my truck stuck when the water levels dropped below the ramps in the reservoirs late in the season. I started with more standard rafts, first boat was a Zodiac and later went with Achilles. Mainly I wanted to be able to use a small outboard so I targeted an inflatable with a solid transom. The last 6 years or so I converted over to a raft kayak hybrid watercraft called Kaboat manufactured by Saturn. I think this Aquaglide inflatable kayak has many more compelling features than the Saturn but the main advantage the Kaboat offers is the solid transom if you might prefer using a small outboard motor. Maybe I just missed it but I don't recall the price being mentioned for the Aquaglide but the 16 foot Kaboat last time I checked was still fairly reasonably priced. Outside of all that, thank you for posting yet another enjoyable video filled with great information. Something I discovered somewhat late in my inflatable boat ownership experience was a product made by Inland Marine that works extremely well for repairing small air leaks. Instead of using an adhesive to glue a patch to the outside of your boat the Inland Marine's product is a liquid you apply to the inside of the pontoon. It takes some time to cure so isn't ideal for trying to fix a boat while you're away from home but it is something I had better success permanently fixing annoying slow air leaks with than trying to apply a patch.

Great video! I had kinda disregarded it until I started traveling more for work and I really miss my kayaks for fishing from. This looks like it would be a passable solution for getting back out of bank fishing again. It would even be a good host for a Lowrance Hook that I haven't found a place for which came in an Autopilot I bought used.

Nice looking kayak. I'm sure this one is much better quality than the inflatable kayaks I've had, but I stopped using them because it seemed I would always have a pin hole somewhere. Brush off any sand before folding up/transporting.

Like anything there are grades of quality, same with PVC. This one is woven Duratex fabric and super strong. We've had ours for almost 8 years and no holes. Even so, they came with tear-aid patches that work great on dings that we didn't want to turn into holes. If you gouge a sharp rock, true, it could puncture but overall sand and regular use they are great and not nearly as fragile as cheaper unsupported PVC ones made of the same stuff pool toys are made of.

Man, the technology on inflatables has improved a lot recently. I think if I go with an inflatable option for rivers or packing short distances, I’d rather have a pontoon. But I can see the advantage of finding a kayak you could check as baggage too.

I'm guessing you're already aware but in case not... Aquaglide makes a line of ultralight kayaks that are smaller and lighter and might be better for air travel & Backpacking. One option is The Backwoods Expedition 85. They don't have as many features or as much weight capacity as the Blackfoot but might work better for certain trips. Thanks again for all your great educational videos.

So is this kayak different than the sea eagle fast track? Like the sea eagle, you have to inflate the flooring separately, and then you have to shove it into the kayak. I wanna make sure that is not the same thing for the aqua glide Blackfoot.

That said, I don't ever have to pay oversize fees (at least on United, Southwest, or Delta) for skiis / snowboard that are 6 feet long, so I don't see why they wouldn't check this without extra fees 🤔 My other big comment on this kayak is that the seat is awesome, but you pay for it in weight! Might get a lightweight inflatable seat if I ever need to strap this thing to my back for more than a few minutes.
