Spin fishing the Mitta River - in search of a golden tagged trout

The VFA has released 1000 tagged fish into fire affected areas, and the North East has been included! Fishtalk's Garry Simonis caught a tagged Murray Cod, but missed out on the $10,000 prize because the fish was caught before the comp started on March 1st. In this video I head up towards Eskdale and Mitta to try my luck. The Mitta Mitta River is a joy to fish, and on this day it seemed that I had the whole place to myself. Am I expecting a payday? No, but as the old saying goes, a bad day's fishing beats a good day at work.

Wow, Ron. Thank you for the kind words. Maybe when I upload more frequently the subscribers may come, but there are a LOT of great fishing channels out there and I'm just a minnow!! Do get up to the Mitta, it's a magical place.

Good one Roscoe, beautiful river the Mitta. You wouldn't believe it, I just sat down to watch this and a Facebook notification popped up, someone just caught the golden tagged Trout in the Mitta, a fella that has a cabin up at Dart! Also, any idea when your next episode on the Lake Hume ramps will be coming up mate?

Hey Greg, just my luck!!! But seriously, good on him. VFA are to be congratulated for this initiative, and there are many more to be caught. Regarding the boat ramps, most are currently out of the water and I want to get some drone footage as well, so hopefully I will get back out there soon. Cheers, mate.

I know it’s been ages since this post but the Eskdale shop was closed shieldzy who owned it sold the shop now it’s a fish and chip shop I live in Eskdale so I go there a lot
