Asake and his music is such an interesting anomaly to anything I’ve seen from a new Naija artist in recent times. The music sounds unique and familiar..streets and mainstream at the same time. Plus the serious investment into him. We’re witnessing something in the making.

This is my third video I’ve watched in a row. I’m a Trinidadian that lives in NYC. I love West African music! Thank you for this platform and educating the ignorant. Appreciate you. 💕

you will need to compare the impact of social media on the music industry now when rating the performance of goons mi and VOTS, might have been a different experience if this level of social media participation. I totally get your point, but people ate VOTS especially, but there was no social media to augment that like it is doing for Palazzo rn.
@obabee24742 жыл бұрын
Also they may not be the biggest Olamide tracks like wo & science students or infinity but VOTS and Goons were as big as they could at the time imo, especially VOTS if you do a relative analysis of acceptance given the different conditions of the market at the time these songs dropped VOTS was probably as big as what palazzo is doing (arguable) on the scale of hits cos its definitely not as big as wo & science students. The growth in the market with impact of SM, and more acceptability of afrobeats across board would skew results a bit tho.

The issue is that people who usually make such unnecessary comparisons, like with Olamide and Ololade, aren't making good-faith arguments, they're not praising Olamide, they're trying to discredit Asake, it's not done in Yorubaland, we don't need such duplicituosness. It only breeds bad blood and there's enough room for all our talent. If it's something you have a tendency of doing, perhaps consider what it feeds into as divisive.

There was a video, from two yrs back, where asake was singing palazzo. I don't think baddo contributed to this song.
