The spring must be 200-300kg for ISO20. For ISO25 will be much more to not "fall out" in the process of milling

Very precise and clean work! I used a very similar spindle (derived from BT30) when I designed the headstock for my CNC lathe, then integrated the motor inside the spindle (or the spindle inside the motor). You can check it out in my videos! Thank you for sharing.

aha i finally can understand the principle. So basically gravity lets it fall out if is not captured with thouse balls and that happens when air is engaged with pressure
@elmecworks Жыл бұрын
In addition to gravity, the drawbar gives the tool a shot, too, if the air pressure is on.

What bearing you used? And the most important thing: how about balancing? Have you balanced this this spindle dynamically?

What a masterpiece. You are really good in making spindle. Really nice. First time I have seen using a that aping instead of Belleville washers. Any reason for that?

@@elmecworks ah ok got it! I am making a ATC for my my too :-). Still R8 spindle thought. I am using the same AC servo you use. Are you going to control it by 0-10V or step/dir?
@elmecworks3 жыл бұрын
@@Ale_Lab Nice! I usually control it by step/dir,if you choose step/dir and get noise use an external capacitor around 1nF to the step signal and ground of the breakboard output.
@Ale_Lab3 жыл бұрын
@@elmecworks ah thanks for the trick! I will keep it in mind. I want to use step/dir so I can also rigid tapping and orient the spindle. I also installed a small encoder ABZ signal. I know I can swap the axis for threading and bring it back to analog 0-10V but having the spindle all the tipe step/dir sounds easier. I will try this first

How does the sleeve ball lock mechanism work. Are balls in some kind of taper or dual sided plunger. Basically how are balls held inside inner sleeve?
The bearings in the video are used and already killed

Is this spindle and servo capitable of cutting steel at 5000rpm
@elmecworks3 жыл бұрын
Hi, it depends on the diameter of the current tool and the cutting depth and the CNC speed, generally the spindle and servo is suitable for cutting steel.
