I still think it is a terrible shame that the rails were removed from Tupper to Lake Placid. It's like losing a landmark building due to stupidity! It can never be returned.

On my way up I couldn’t help but think of how amazing it would be to have rail service to the wonderful towns of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake.

@@NorthCountryTrains Not to mention Montreal. My family ran a tuberculosis hospital at Lake Kushaqua and the tracks went right thru the property. It was possible to go from Utica to Montreal via the Adirondack Division of the New York Central but I am sure you are aware of that.
