Spinning Tops- Testing Y7 Prototypes

These six versions introduce students to some key elements and principles of physics and phenomena associated with spinning discs and patterns they create on a core centrepiece.
Concepts explored include kinetic energy, torque, friction and gravity, as well as colour theory and the wagon wheel effect.
The challenge for students here was considering what design factors will increase their spin times upon various surfaces.
