I haven't played this map in ages, but as I recall while you CAN get across in the north, the right way to do it is in the south where the river is fairly narrow. As I recall, I managed to find a point where almost any truck in the game could get across. Correction: Towards the end I saw the map. The "right" place to cross is to the west, where the road ends in the river.
