Thank you Al. Bought a cobra new 26 and had trouble sewing belt points. This video taught me how to do this.

Al Bane ! Thank you so much for creating these videos ! I’m having trouble with keeping a clean line back stitching into the same holes when I start and stop a project… can you highlight how and when to engage reverse to get really clean starts and stops using a triple back stitch ? Thank you so much ! Also… how to make minor adjustments by raising the presser foot when navigating around corners and coming to an edge without disrupting the integrity of the stitch ? Thank you thank you !

Can do this if you have the EPS with the Cobra 26?

Is this technique still relevant or necessary with the automatic needle positioning system?
@albaneforleather
@albaneforleather Жыл бұрын
I use it with my EPS all the time. The technique is relevant with and without the EPS system. The needle positioning prior to transitioning into a corner is a critical skill that should be developed. Understanding the past bottom dead center and the position of the hook relative to the loop in the needle thread is also critical. Just having the EPS is not a replacement for having an intellectual grasp of the technique.

Yes, I now see EPS and backward movement are not related. The EPS does not know where the corner is! @@albaneforleather

@@albaneforleather I agree. Maybe you can answer this question: using 138 thread I had perfect stitches top and bottom except in the corners where the top thread pulled the bobbin thread all the way to the top, so that the bobbin thread was showing. Not sure what caused that problem. Any help is appreciated.

@@alainbriot That's indicative of not enough tension. A smaller needle and loosening the needle tension device will help.

@@albaneforleather When you say 'not enough tension' do you mean not enough tension on the bobbin side?

Hello Al I still don't understand what means 1/4 dead in the center? As I told you I can be thick. Center of needle or something else. I tried every things I still get 3 thread in the throat of the machine. Once in a while I get it right but I still don't know ? Sorry to bother you like this Christian

When the machine cycles the needle goes up and then down. When it reaches the top of the stroke that's what we call the top dead center. Inversely, when it reaches the bottom that is called the bottom dead center. Think of it as a clock one second past 12:00 is past 12:00 no matter what moment one second one minute 5 minutes 10 minutes it's all the same it's past 12:00. So now let's talk about your needle bar in the same context. The needle bar goes all the way to the top of the stroke to the top dead center as it starts coming down we call that pass top dead center. We are now talking very specifically about a moment in the cycle. One quarter inch past top dead center. So as the needle starts coming down one quarter inch from the top it arrives at the quarter inch past top dead center moment and that is the moment we are talking about when the hook releases the needle thread.

i have the same machine, cobra class 26 and i really look forward to trying this exercise. Quick question - when i finish sewing and remove the material from the machine the top thread breaks as soon as i pull in it. Any idea what would cause that?
@albaneforleather
@albaneforleather 4 жыл бұрын
You have to do the finger deploy method to help relieve the tension on the thread
