Spirit Airlines commences direct flights from Connecticut to Jamaica

We here in the Hartford Jamaican diaspora are celebrating from the rooftops 🥳. You have no idea how convenient it is to have a direct flight to Jamaica within 15 minutes of your house! In fact I and my family are packing our bags to take this flight very soon. So excited about this finally coming to fruition after 15 years of advocacy. Travelers should educate themselves on how a no-frills, fee-based airline operates. Research and plan for their fees and they’ll be fine. There’s hardly anything free on most airlines these days anyway. The basic fare on Spirit is low to account for the fees for bags etc. Even with the add-ons, it’s still usually way cheaper than the others. But this isn’t only about price , it’s the convenience of a direct flight home. Who knows, maybe if Spirit is successful on the route it will attract other carriers so passengers will have more choice. Until then I’ll be supporting the effort and taking Spirit from Bradley to Jamaica every chance I get! Kudos to everyone who worked to make this dream a reality 🎉

JetBlue Airways will soon take that route from Spirit Airlines after there Merger is finalized but we'll wait to see what happens next for The US Carriers!!!!
