It's not a "lunch box" it's a mini suitcase. Think of those old cardboard (cheap) cases that travelling salesman had or somebody in a circus!!! The elastic across the inside lid would have kept heavier things in place. Very retro but they still make them for women. Especially very upmarket brands, (but not cardboard, leather), as an "overnight" case.

the clown union local 41 is probably a reference to the Clowns Of America International which has local unions or associations of clowns across the country and world. each of them is designated a number and has many members in each union, I believe the box itself is supposed to be a clowns makeup kit . By the way if that tube of clown white grease-paint is real. It looks legitimately vintage. It is very cool that Spirit does this for you guys . Very cool indeed. Great job presenting this one Griffin.

*IF* the shredded newspaper is the same as the small one that was in the body I'd try to take a clear photo of it (the small one) and find a way to look at it on a large computer screen or see if it can be enlarged with one of those projectors on a large screen. If there's clues it seems to me like they'd be in the crossword puzzle. Hidden but in plain sight.

Local 41, huh? This is the 41st year that Spirit Halloween has been around for, since 1983. Subtract 41 from 2024, and you get 1983.
