Accelerating from Yellowin Bay through the measured 1 kilometre course, Spirit 2 achieved a speed of 265 miles per hour or 442 kilometres per hour.
I witnessed and recorded from a location about 200 metres South of the boat ramp on the eastern foreshore.

They have another test weekend planned in November sometime. On this run they hit around 260mph, which isn't far off where they need to be. Slow and steady seems to be their ethos, and given the history of doing this I can't say I blame them. There is surprisingly little media coverage of this, even on their own channels. I just hope they have a professional crew somewhere documenting all this, because when it happens, it's gonna be huge. Especially as the poms are having a go too with Richard Noble's team. Ken Warby was the best ever by far. Built is own boat in his back yard then thrashed the Americans and the British and did it all safely. The Americans are falling way behind now, British have land speed and Aussies have water.
