This is a brand new replica of the first aircraft that was flown solo across the Atlantic Ocean. The Spirit of St. Louis. In 1927 Charles Lindbergh flew 33.5 hours from New York to Paris. His feat was celebrated around the world. Him and his plane became famous and many replicas have been built of the plane. The real one hangs in the entrance lobby of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. This one was built in 2011 and rests in the Evergreen Air & Space Museum in McMinnville Oregon.
