Can confirm that Venser, the Soujourner puts in work for my Brago, King Eternal token deck. Not a bad finisher here as well.

So. Cemetery Illuminator. The card is quickly becoming budget [it's already down to like $4-$5 because no one is playing it in Standard yet], so you could feasibly fit it into budget builds of the deck. It's better than it looks. For one, it's incidental graveyard hate once a turn on ETB and attack, which is a nice thing to fit in the deck with how prevalent graveyard strategies are in the format. The better thing about the card, which most people don't realize, is you can look at the top card of your library as soon as it enters play as a game action, i.e. it doesn't use the stack and you can do it at any time, similar to looking at your sideboard. This means you can look at it before you exile the card in your graveyard [you can look before the state-based action of choosing a target], meaning you can choose what you exile after determining what's on top, greatly increasing your chance to get immediate value. I've been playing it on Arena [where it also works like that, obviously] and the card overperforms.

What about Soulherder, 3 cmc with an exile flicker effect each end of your turn that adds +1/+1 each time a creature is exiled? Lots of spirits have etbs and this card does a great job reproducing those effects

Been running that card In My commander deck with Millicent and it WORKS. Especially if you have some nice dual coloured big spirits.

Mirrorweave is fantastic in this deck and its dirt cheap. If you have a creature like... I don't know.. a Drogskol Reaver on the battlefield, all your 1/1 spirits become drolskol reavers and you just smash face and draw lots of cards and gain a ton of life too. Drogskol reaver is a 3/5 spirit for 5WU and it has: flying, doublestrike, lifelink & "when ever you gain life, draw a card". so not sure if all the copies of Drogskol reaver would trigger at once and you just draw 1 card or they trigger saparately and you draw for each one. I think you just draw 1 card, but you gain a ton of life

Best line of text: This spell costs 1 less to cast for each spirit you control... they could've easily had ''Non-token spirit'' instead. Spirit Bonds, one of my pet cards. Mirror Hall mimic, Spark Double, Sakashima might not be bad in this deck. Just looked over the deck list on WOTC, Twilight Drover looks hilarious for my Ghave deck :P

Ghostly prison is an absolute pain for most decks you might play against, i see no reason to cut it. Every time i play it, people rarely choose me to attack for the rest of the game or until they get a removal.

Yeah, i don't understand why you would cut that card when theirs so many other cards that are much more disposable. I went the other way when enhancing my deck, i added propaganda to it, now the 2 cost to attack is a feature that comes up a lot during combat. Every time any one of those cards come out it instantly changes the rhythm of combat in my favor.

I’d have to add looking into Idol of Oblivion, and Tome of Legends for solid reliable card draw as you are generally making tokens, and swinging in with your commander, plus they doesn’t usually eat removal.

The irritated groan that comes out of my opponents mouth when I cast ghostly prison is all the assurance I need to keep that card. In fact I've added propaganda to my deck, so theirs now 3 cards that force the other player to pay mana when they attack. I think people overlook how heavy of a cost that is, especially in the early game.

Coat of Arms? It's insane on its own and it's an absolute slam dunk if you pair it with mirror entity which is already in the deck. Trust me I have a player in my group who exclusively plays token tribal decks and I can't count on my hands and feet the times I lost to coat of arms. The simmetry isn't that relevant since you are going wider than everyone else and your creatures are evasive (flying)

I am wrong about the interaction with mirror entity, coat of arms has an errata, so you won't be getting a boost for all 261 creature types. At least it's still a really good standalone card.

I love coat of arms but I’m gonna play door of destinies instead. One downside of coat of arms is it boost all creatures so if you face a tribal deck it helps them as well.

Guys I think I'm cursed. I built a Gruul dragons deck right before AFR was spoiled, and then I built Azorius spirits right before this precon. At least I get upgrades 🙃

I have been collecting all the spirits in foil for quite a while. I’ve been perpetually hoping they would give us a fun and interactive commander that is not Brago… I wouldn’t say I’m completely letdown, but I don’t believe this deck really brings too much new to the table, but I’m certainly going to pick up the four or five new singles from it and give it a test.

I saw this card too, and thought it could be good too. Sucks it’s not a spirit, but if you can bring it out and give your creatures indestructible for potentially a mana and 4 tapped creatures, it sounds like a good deal to me

Just so everyone knows teferis protection will get rid of your tokens. They won’t phase back in.

Actually they will phase back in. When a permanent or token phases, it doesn't leave the battlefield, it just simply doesn't exist anymore. The tokens stay because they never leave the battlefield and simply don't exist, and then re-exist. Also if you check any official rulings it says that tokens come back after phasing
