Fun Fact: He didn't use a 8 string to record this song/album. He mentioned he needed a blue guitar to match Courtney and loaned this 8 string for the video only.

Oh we agree there’s definitely some amazing projects on the horizon from some amazing bands. I think with us Spiritbox has such a unique sound and style that is evolving constantly and separates them from the pack. But please don’t remind me Jinjer has new music on the way I don’t think my heart can handle it right now 😂

The chorus sounds huge, and the structure of the song is very mid career Architects-esque (when Sam started using mostly cleans with the typical screams). Mike HATES guitars with more than 7 strings, but apparently he used his newer Tosin Abasi signature model in the video to fit the colour scheme. I’ve heard him say “more than 7 strings is stupid. Just use a distortion pedal and no one is gonna be able to tell the difference between distorted heavy and low heavy.” This one was apparently one they wrote late into being in the studio and slapped together a recording for (compared to how much they usually plan everything). Mike used to write everything instrumental with consultation from Bill, but my understanding is Bill is writing his parts now too. Mike is still writing all the guitars and drums.

We read an article where this was a last minute addition too, and all I can think of is if this is them throwing something together quickly, I can’t even imagine what the rest of the album is going to sound like!

Apparently Mike is playing a 7 string on the song but they used that guitar in the video because it matches Courtney's hair Been waiting for you boys to release this so I can see you lose your minds over it haha
