My second grade teacher was super into Studio Ghibli, and showed us Spirited Away and Ponyo. Only a few months ago did I dig up an old dvd with Spirited Away on it and I rewatched it. After so many years, the movie only comes as an amazing experience, and I wish more than ever to thank her for introducing myself and likely hundreds of other students to Studio Ghibli's masterful animes.

This melody makes me feel so sleepy - in a kind of positive way I can't really explain. I'm sinking deeper and deeper into my bed and drifting off. I just feel like my life is complete when listening, and that I am in a peaceful place far from home, a place full of color, it's quiet, sunny but with a gentle breeze. It feels almost like I am in a flowery meadow - and while I am stretched out, totally at ease, I am feeling the nature surrounding me... Well, simply put, hehe

According to what I've read, the part where Haku promises that they will meet again in English has a different translation and meaning in Japanese. In the Japanese, the exchange goes "Will I see you again?" "I'll come for you." That's supposed to be Haku promising that he'll come and be Chihiro's spirit guide into the afterlife when she dies, so they'll see each other once they can be together forever.

I learned this when I was in high school. Then, I became busy with life and I forgot how to play, and I also forgot who I was and who I wanted to be. Yesterday, out of the blue, I rewatched Spirited Away, and I suddenly felt very sad, not only because of the movie, but I realised I missed being myself so much. Today, I decided to learn this from scratch again, and I wanted to learn this particular version which I’ve learned so many years ago. So thank you so much for keeping this video on KZbin all these years. Thank you so so much!

I was probably 7 or 8 when I watched "Spirited Away" with my dad. I love it so much and the reason why was how well it was able to provoke the feeling of being lost as a small child in a frightening, unknown yet fascinating world. I think it is the only movie from everything I've watched that can provoke such emotions or any at all. I'm eighteen and I still get that same feeling of being a lost child trying to find a way back home no matter the fears, the monsters and the challenges that are ahead.

lol same I got teary eyed Yea I guess I see what you mean. The first Anime movie I watched was Princess Mononoke don't get me wrong it was an amazing movie but It's prob my favorite because of I watched it at a very young age. So it holds a nostalgic feeling to it; which was me, my brother and I think my sister all huddled on the floor around the desktop computer watching and my brother teasing whoever was crying or getting teary eyed because he was embarrassed to cry. Long story short, some movies in general hold a significance in your heart and that's what makes them amazing :)
