Joseph Campbell said, “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” For years, I could not experience this privilege. Why? Because I was told that the truest essence of my being was sinful. Then, even after I became “born again,” I was only considered “new,” “restored,” and “righteous” because now when God looked at me, he didn't see me; he saw someone else (Jesus). And this was the only way God could look at me, accept me, and love through someone else who is apparently God (himself). Isn’t that quite interesting?
Through my spiritual awakening, I have kissed my religious indoctrination goodbye and have discovered who I really am my True Self. This Self doesn't have to “get to God” or “be reconciled to God” because it's inherently and eternally one with God. This Self (which is not to be mistaken for the false self, separate self, or the ego) is pure spirit, infinite, rooted in perfect love and liberation for all, and it knows no such thing as separation, division, or judgment.
Ironically, Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Discovering the True Self through awakening is not only “the privilege of a lifetime” but also the greatest liberation of a lifetime and even beyond time.

36 years ago I was a Jehovah’s Witness, had been for 15 years. A Christian whose door I had knocked on gave me a Journey into Life booklet which I intended to throw away without reading. However curiosity didn’t kill this cat, it brought this cat to life. I decided to read it and was so moved by the prayer in the booklet that I decided I just had to pray it and - talk about a Damascus Road experience - I encountered Jesus and knew he had come into my heart and life. We are Spirit, Soul and Body and I knew in my spirit that he had come to dwell within me and would never leave me. I was baptised in the Holy Spirit very soon after that and have never looked back. I was catapulted out of the Jehovah’s Witnesses faster than you can say ‘religious cult’. From that point on I was very much aware of my real self, where God dwells by his Spirit. For this reason I totally missed the ‘dark night of the soul’. I am so grateful that God rescued me in the way he did - from that moment on I have had such love, peace and joy in my life. Thank you so much Logan for your videos, they really resonate with my spirit.

We all were born and set into motion originally from an Eternal self existing being (Our Father God ) So we all are searching for Eternal Immortal Life without even realizing it…it s who we are. That’s why we have no satisfaction and no contentment in the temporary created things in this world. The Lord is our Shepard, we shall not lack or want anything In Him alone🙌🏻 He is Thee Eternal Love and Thee Life that we all are deep down and truly are desiring❤️ #HearHim

“When you start to live from the true self, it feels like something that you’ve always known. It’s intuitive, it’s from the heart, it’s a heart knowing. Recognition is a great word for it […] the word recognition simply means to know again.” I felt this exactly during/after my spiritual awakening. I just had a knowing about these things and there’s no logical way to explain it to people to haven’t gone through it - they either understand that it’s more a matter of the heart and a higher power, or they think you’re full of shit 😂

Interestingly enough, at the beginning of my spiritual shift, we read "The Dark Night of the Soul" in my Spanish lit class. Then, I went through my dark night. I would say i have passed through that one, and I know there are likely more to come. The idea of being born again is so beautiful when it's liberated from the weight of egoic doctrine!

Hi Logan, excellent stuff! If I may throw out some insights here: What is ego but a thought? I don't think there's actually something you can call an ego. There's just thoughts. If you throw away those thoughts, what remains? Also there's no 'You' who can deal with an 'ego', because al there is to you is life/energy/that which is. Those whole notion of there being a 'you'is an illusion, and all it can do is produce more illusionary stuff. So the way to find what you are is to just be it. You're already it, thoughts and all. If you can use past of future, and if you can't use thoughts, then what is here? That's what you are! Not that there's anything wrong with thoughts.. they spontaneously happen and there;s noone in control of that. If you think you are, then try to stop thinking. Or just try thinkingh happy thoughts! If we could, then that's be good news for depressed peeps.. .all they need to do is think happy thoughts1 But obviously you can't! thoughts happen by themselves. So in conclusion: we've been driving a Tesla on autopilot all along, and we keep turning the wheel thinking we're in control. But the wheel isn't attached to anything! It's all just happening by itself, spontaneously, for no reason :) Anyway something to chew on maybe, even though there is no-one to chew ;) But chewing may still happen . haha.

From "What is the Ego" in "A Course in Miracles": "Illusions will not last. Their death is sure, and this alone is certain in their world. It is the ego’s world because of this. What is the ego? But a dream of what you really are, a thought you are apart from your Creator, and a wish to be what He created not. It is a thing of madness, not reality at all. A name for namelessness is all it is. A symbol of impossibility; a choice for options that do not exist. We call it that to help us understand that it is nothing but an ancient thought that what is made has immortality. But what could come of this except a dream which, like all dreams, can only die? I've had it described to me as going through the refiners fire 🔥 ❤️❤️ never heard it described as dark night of the soul I was going to watch hook the other day but thought my kiddo may have been a bit too young. The joy and laughter when he realised who he always was 😁👍 Look forward to listening to your follow up vid The first one was massive - then I heard "accept His grace" ❤️❤️❤️ So what I think I may be learning that it's the process of letting go and in that space experiencing Truth and a love that can't be described ❤️

Hello brother, Lloyd and I watched this video this morning and thoroughly immersed ourselves in a moment of truth. You expressed so many excellent points we have pondered and worked through and experienced as you have. When we have an awakening , and that is exactly the right word to use , we recognize who we are and who God says we are from before we were formed in our Mama's womb. I have always maintained that we have the DNA of God running through our veins. As you were speaking, what came to mind was the miraculous scientific facts surrounding a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. This phenomenon is often used to describe someone who has "asked Jesus into their heart" and therefore becomes a new creation. I was indoctrinated to believe this was a change in who I was. I was no longer a caterpillar (lowly sinner), but a beautiful butterfly (Holy and acceptable before God). But....this always came with a list of do's and don'ts.....a need for change in behavior and performance. As soon as your video was finished I looked up these facts about caterpillars. "Yes, caterpillars have the same DNA as the butterflies they will become. The metamorphosis a caterpillar undergoes only changes their physical morphology as a result of hormones activating different genes that were already present." This to me so beautifully illustrates what you presented in this video. The caterpillar is so earth bound before soaring the heights of skies unknown. What is in between these two dimensions ??? It is the cocoon. I liken the cocoon's confinement and darkness to the hell we experience in the metamorphosis process we enter into during our awakening. Our DNA never changes. As we shed the ego self (like the outer skin of the cocoon) we begin to see the light. Our true identity is in the caterpillar as well as the butterfly. We just have to be awakened to it .....and that is a miracle in and of itself. We love your insights, and continue to be blessed.

Thank you and I appreciate you sharing that. Yep, a dark night of the soul or a “wilderness season” is part of the process. And yes, it is hell. My experience with it was immensely challenging, but nothing has transformed me more. I am therefore immensely grateful for it. I now know who I am, and as Joseph Campbell said, “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”

Having worked as a nurse in acute psychiatric care I’ve come alongside people who are experiencing their own personal hell. I find it preposterous that God would cast them into an eternal literal hell at the end of their life. For myself, I identify with the ‘dark night of the soul’ and that’s its own type of hell. Thankfully I also know that’s there’s a refining fire that we may all pass through but that’s a beautiful thing and not something to be afraid of.

I had a long history of really believing that there is no hell after diving deep down the near death experience rabbit hole. I recently got caught up, watching a bunch of unbelievably disturbing hellish experiences people of had crossing over. It definitely brought up a lot of fear, and uncertainty. The way these people describe the experience is exactly the same as the good side of the near death experience as far as being way more real than this life. Some had no believe or knowledge of hell who had profound experiences with calling out to Jesus who came to rescue them. I’ve started shifting back to more that this is not an eternal place but I’m finding it hard to completely shake it. What are your thoughts on those hellosh types of NDE’s?

@LoganBarone
@LoganBarone 7 ай бұрын
Thank you! To answer your question, I’m not really sure if such places actually exist in the afterlife. It seems as though much of what people experience during NDEs is a reflection of their deep subconscious beliefs. For example, depending on what religion someone is and the religious figure or deity they worship, they tend to see that religious figure or deity during their NDE. Also, if someone believes hell exists in the afterlife, then they might experience a brief period of a hellish realm. However, it's never eternal. The “afterlife” consists of many different planes and is much different than what many people think. I might make a video about the afterlife soon!

Patreon is a platform where people can choose to subscribe monthly and get access to exclusive content made by content creators. It's a website, but you can also download the app. On my Patreon, I post Q&A videos, guided meditations, teachings, blogs, and more. Sometimes, it's easier for me to answer certain questions via video format, and instead of posting my Q&A videos on KZbin, I post them on Patreon. But if you're not familiar with Patreon, I don't mind responding to your question on here! I wrote this recently, and I think it will somewhat answer your question: I used to believe that I was inherently sinful and deserving of divine wrath (eternal conscious torment) just from being born, all because a man named Adam ate an apple from a forbidden tree 6,000 years ago. But the “good news” I was presented with was that God sent his son (who is also God) to the earth to become an atonement for my inherited “sin nature” that was bestowed upon me when a man named Adam ate an apple from a forbidden tree 6,000 years ago. This atonement consisted of God pouring all of his vengeance out on his son, who was taking my place in receiving “my” punishment. Punishment for what? My punishment for simply being born that required me to suffer eternal conscious torment because of the inherited sin I was born with… As you can imagine, when I was first told this and then convinced of it, I wanted to do everything in my power to make sure I was “saved.” Being “saved” or “born again” was the requirement in order to escape the divine wrath I was supposedly deserving of simply by being born. When I was Catholic, I was told the baptism I received as an infant was what saved me. Then, when I became evangelical, I was told that the infant baptism didn't save me, only repentance from sin, making Jesus “Lord of my life,” and starting a “relationship” with him is what would really “save” me… So, of course, I did all of that. I said the sinner's prayer, repented of my sin (daily), started a “relationship” with Jesus, and started attending church regularly. Because I had jumped through the pre-requisite hoops of receiving salvation, I apparently was now a new man, a new creation, and my name was written in the “Lamb’s Book of Life.” Which meant my ticket card was punched for heaven. I had received afterlife insurance… yay! While everyone was congratulating me on my “spiritual birth date,” I couldn't help but think in the back of my mind: “Wait a second, because of my repentance and decision to make Jesus lord of my life, I just started an eternal relationship with Jesus (who is God) who apparently had to save me from God (from God’s eternal wrath) all because of inherited sin that was bestowed upon me for simply being born from a man named Adam who ate a fruit from a forbidden tree 6,000 years ago…” Then I started thinking, “What kind of “relationship” is contingent on an afterlife ultimatum that would result in me being eternal punished if I chose not to be in the relationship? And how are they calling this relationship invitation ‘unconditional love’ from God? Although this narrative never really sat well with me and made absolutely no sense, I went with it. If it meant I didn't have to go to hell, and this was the “only” way I could get to heaven, I figured it was best to ignore my intuition, and that still small voice within that was saying this was ridiculous. After believing and teaching this “gospel message” for over a decade, I could no longer ignore my heart. So I started questioning what I was being told not to question (this was considered to be disobedience). After the questioning, I started doing my own research, thinking for myself, and slowly but surely, I began to form my beliefs independently. In this exploration, I discovered that nearly all my beliefs about God, the Bible, Jesus, the atonement, original sin, divine judgment, and hell were beliefs that were given to me. Not beliefs I had formed on my own. For years, the reasons I never thought even to question what my spiritual leaders were teaching me was because, one, it was seen as disobedience. Two, I was warned that the path of questioning, critical thinking, and, God forbid, deconstruction of any kind was a sure path to losing my salvation. And you know what happens if you lose your salvation… After a few years of gradual deconstruction from my evangelical fundamentalism, I had a major spiritual awakening that completely transformed everything for me during the most challenging and lonely time of my life. The tribulation I went through before, during, and briefly after my spiritual awakening served a tremendous purpose in bringing me through “hell” and waking me up to the deepest truth about myself that religion and many other distorted belief structures had prevented me from discovering. And this was the only way God could look at me, accept me, and love me: Through someone else who is apparently God (himself). Isn’t that quite interesting? Through my spiritual awakening, I have kissed my religious indoctrination goodbye and have discovered who I really am: my True Self. This Self doesn't have to “get to God” or “be reconciled to God” because it's inherently and eternally one with God.
