We’ve just arrived at the Pasupathinath Temple, one of the most significant Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is not only a sacred pilgrimage site but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The architecture here is absolutely breathtaking.
As we walk through the temple grounds, you can feel the spiritual energy in the air. The complex is huge, with numerous smaller temples and shrines dedicated to various deities.
One of the most striking features of Pasupathinath is the sacred Bagmati River that flows through the temple complex. Hindus believe that taking a dip in this river purifies the soul.
we’re at the main temple, which houses the sacred linga of Lord Shiva. Unfortunately, non-Hindus are not allowed inside the main temple, but the outside view is just as mesmerizing. Right in front of the temple, there's a huge statue of Nandi, the bull who is Lord Shiva's vehicle.
Pasupathinath Temple is also known for its open-air cremation ghats. While this might seem unusual to some, it’s an essential part of the Hindu belief in the cycle of life, birth, and rebirth.
You’ll also encounter many sadhus, or holy men, here. They come from all over Nepal and India to meditate and perform religious rituals. Their presence adds to the temple's mystical atmosphere.
This is a beautiful and deeply spiritual experience where priests perform rituals with fire, accompanied by devotional songs and chants.

পশুপতিনাথের সবচেয়ে আকর্ষণীয় বৈশিষ্ট্যগুলির মধ্যে একটি হল পবিত্র বাগমতি নদী যা মন্দির চত্বরের মধ্য দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হয়। হিন্দুরা বিশ্বাস করেন যে এই নদীতে ডুব দিলে আত্মা পরিশুদ্ধ হয়।
