Transmission exists in other cultures too, from experience. The key is whether one is attuned to it or not, can align and how much they can assimilate. It explains how uncomfortable it might be at first, as the energy might be different to what we are used, or it might trigger up things that we aren't used to. There is a level of allowing it to happen from the teacher, of intent for some (ao moving out of duality) but there is also a level for the recipient of willingness, readiness, of openness, of surrender not to a person but to a Oneness. It's Oneness expressing itself through a certain form that can bring a further opening of mind, of heart, of experience and way of being. Indeed it's always a shared experience once there is a point of connection and sharing, of oneness.
