I have never heard a song which better captures the human psyche. The sonic textures create a swirling state of internal chaos. And the lyrics, which portray intense optimism that is immediately undercut by pessimism, brilliantly matches the nature of the music, evoking the feelings of euphoria one has when in love, but also the self-doubt that surrounds each crevice of your mind. This is one of the greatest songs of all time.
@ecamifna6 жыл бұрын
it is all that, but specifically within the context of a heroin high (described in the 1st half of the song): the delusional optimism that comes from feeling so intensely GOOD within yourself that every single thing around you is interpreted to its most positive, pleasant degree - followed by the sober realization of what was actually going on. this is a love song to heroin.
@heatherkingsley47555 жыл бұрын
Yes but the lyrics are amazing, high on heroin or not...?
@typesblue26113 жыл бұрын
@@heatherkingsley4755 Can't comment on heroin, but back in school LSD (especially) and 'Shrooms put this song and this band on many a cassette. By the way, I managed to manhandle a Masters, so I'm likely to die superior but unhappy

That's probably because Jason and his band are hardly prolific when it comes to recording new material... Amazing little combo though aren't they ??!!.

this life is a little easier having Jason on the planet. When his spaceship landed, he chose to stay. He reminds me that I am not alone. The spoon, belt, and packet don't work no more.

saw them in Atlanta Ga at the earthlink arena in midtown. don't know what it is called now. this was back like 12+ years ago. They were absolutely awesome live and was one of the bands in my list that i always have wanted to see live. I can't remember, but i think either it was a double bill with the band Air or else Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. I really can't remember, but it was a great venue and show.

Lol aint best song ever. Spiritualized is great i love em but they hav way better songs than this. Like: Ladies & gentlemen..., Let it flow, Feel so sad, You kno its true, Spread your wings, and more. This song is kinda tedious and redundant. Altho its not horrible, does hav a decent catch

tomstickland it has a really cool vibe to it hypnotic i think that is when they are at their best when they are too cool to bother just chilled and funky! spiritualized are about a mood not songs :)
@spacemanshan10 жыл бұрын
Fernando Partridge well personal opinion, then u cud say this is their best. but going by ratings, this isnt their top. LAGWAFIS is recognized & liked more than this but i can understand why this is your favorite, its unique to any of their other songs and has a catch to it. just depends how you look at it i suppose. peace M.J. Kalloor all music are about mood :-p all songs are made from some sort of emotion. you cud say maybe an ambiance song or something like that but what you said doesnt really make sense. i understand the songs with little lyrics is more muscially oriented but every song with or without lyrics are 'about a mood'
@gibderm9 жыл бұрын
spacemanshan everyone knows that "cop shoot cop"is their best, lyrically and musically.
