Spiritual Unfoldment with John Butler

Spiritual Unfoldment with John Butler

6 жыл бұрын

A common complaint John hears is that meditators, with their 'head in the clouds', are 'no earthly use'. "Why don't you DO something useful" is the challenge. In this conversation John tells of his attempts as a young man to "make the world a better place" and what it came to. For the first time we also invite questions from invited guests addressing 'mind' and 'why does realisation take so long?'

Hearing John talk, helps reassure me so much that I'm doing just fine plodding along from day to day. I have no ambition in life other than to strive to be happy and healthy and do no harm. Simplify my life and find a quiet sense of peace. Thanks John.

he's in la la land of touch with the 'real world'...like many 'guru types' who want to get into the rarified 'too spiritual' life they remove themselves from 'regular living' and sit on their 'mountain tops' looking down on others...if everyone was like John the world would be dull, lack playfulness, wildness and giggles...God is 'wild'...i am not a 'corrupt' being...he's clocked up bla bla hours in meditation...pure 'escapism'...i sound like i'm knocking him , guess i am...he sets himself up as an example of how 'others ought to be' and now way...Tollee, Papaji, Mooji, Dyer, Jung, Hillman, Thomas Moore and so many other people 'live in the real world'...this guy is 'sitting on top of a mountain'...good for him...wonderful...i trust and pray you love it there and live in the lap of peace beyond all understanding...he's escaped the everyday and decides not to 'engage' the ego and wildness and spontaneity...he come unglued standing in line at an airport counter...of course he's not going to be at an airport counter...anyone who lives in the church with those surroundings can 'easily be spiritual'...no big deal...etc.

Come to Christ. He loves you. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. That is God's promise. Just come as you are, sins and all. Come as little children back to your father in heaven. Just believe that Jesus paid for your sins on the cross. Believe in God's promises to save all those who believe on his Son. There is no sin so great for our Lord Jesus to not forgive. God bless.

Sometimes helping can be elusive. Artificial fertilizers have allowed us to feed the masses. More food has led to population booms in places that didn't need them. Try telling those farmers they weren't helping. Unforseen consequences.

"There are no questions there, no doubts, no uncertainty". This fascinates me. That we have an ability to reach such a position during our existence. I'm a million miles from such clarity but what strikes me most is; what have we done to ourselves!

The great thing about John is he is incapable of causing offence. Just a softly spoken peaceful, articulate man. No matter what you believe he is interesting to listen to

I hope Me Butler knows his life work from his youth helping in S.America to his daily meditations silently happening over the decades has culminated in what his heart has always wanted. He is doing something and has been. Now the fruits are being shown in these videos. We’re fortunate to find ourselves here, hearing his story. This is a modern day Confessions of a Saint.
