SDV is an unbelievably insipid, watery fragrance. It lasts for about half an hour on most people and is in a wacky category beyond 'skin scent/intimate projection'. It's more like a 30 minute skin STAIN that you can only discern and enjoy if you smoosh your nostrils right up against the patch of skin where you sprayed it. For that price point, and keeping in mind that it's from the legendary heritage house of Guerlain...good God what a disappointment. The fragrance-- sniff it while you can, before it entirely evaporates-- is beautiful. If only it had a voice, some presence, some obviously expensive ingredients to revel in instead of being this weird watered down whisper of a fragrance. I remember the classic compositions from the 1980s and 1990s so I just can't with this modern muck. Nuh-uh, not from Guerlain, for that price. IFor shame. 'll keep looking for other gorgeous vanilla-forward fragrances thanks. PS= Your hair does NOT look ridiculous to me in this video. You're so striking to look at and listen to. Go easier on yourself, you gorgeous creature. 🤩

@@rvsticolive Oh please make that video, let it rip! I'd LOOOOVE to hear more of your suggestions and more about your honest experiences. I have a few vanilla-forward fragrances and do understand that most are not designed to be both 'expensive smooth' affairs whilst simultaneously achieving great longevity and projection (ie; Tihota by Indult is wonderful but performs terribly also-- I keep it as an indoor solitary pleasure for myself only). I do understand the challenges perfumers face when working with the materials in question and have adjusted my expectations in line with my education. That being said, my favourite 'big vanilla' is Initio's 'Absolute Aphrodisiac'. The way it works with the leather accord to create this dense vanilla cloud that's sweet but not sticky...excellent. I look forward to watching more of your videos, have a super weekend!
