As soon as I updated to the new version 1.7.0 Studio One started crashing when I tried to switch to piano. The vst3 version had to be blocked so I’m now using the vst2 version. Anyone else experiencing this? I put a ticket into Presonus so let’s see what that comes up with.

Presonus have solved this “You can try doing a full new plugin scan by going to the Plugin Manager and clicking the Remove Plugin Settings button.” Works a treat now! I’ve left this post just in case anyone else experiences this issue.

So how does the Concert Grand Piano work for Core and Pro owners? Piano is a separate library for Core and Pro but the Discover variant can still be used. Is Core/Pro missing the free piano then?

correct. Only discover gets the piano unfortunetly

The piano you get with the free version isn't great though. It's only got one dynamic layer and no round robin. So you're not missing anything.

Is there a tutorial to use this wonderful sounds VST with dorico SE? I cannot assign different sounds to different instruments, tried to set different channels or ports in dorico didn't help. In the spitfire BBC UI, the channel option seems to be global, not per chosen instrument. Any help welcome

After updating the plugin it just won't open up in my DAW (Studio One) anymore. I tried to "repair" or "reset" the plugin already and checked if the right VST-locations are set. Everything's fine but the plugin just won't open. 😔 I also tried deleting all the plugin files as well as the library folder and re-installing it. Weirdly enough the 32 bit-versions won't get installed anymore but the 64 bit-versions do (appearing in the plugin-folders that is - it's still not working). Anyone has an idea on how to solve this? At this point I would be happy to just have the earlier version working again. 😔

It cost extra to go in and record the piano. Consequently it costs extra to have the piano. The math matches.

You're forgetting one thing--when you purchase a higher level tier, you get the lower tiers. Upgrade it. Then just put it in Discover mode to see the piano.

It feel disingenuous to be critical of a free product, however that notwithstanding, I've found the long string patches, scored together, really poor to the point of putting me off shelling out for the paid products. Problems range from beat-like phasing and generation of horrid brass-like partials to unacceptable note attacks especially with repeated notes reminiscient of 1990s soundcards. I had genuinely presumed orchestral string sounds had evolved a lot further than this. I suppose this is why the marketing invariably showcases rhythmic percussive- and accent-heavy examples rather than slow and _,molto legato_ examples. I am more than happy t be corrected for someone to show me settings and how to get the strings sounding something like the real thing!
