i agree that the game is very balanced between the races (though i read a lot of a terran advantage , cause pretty stable in early- . mid - and lategame) , but NOT at all comparable to chess. In chess there is no chance - everything that happens is a consequence of your or opponents actions/moves. I so wanted to see a psi-counter when those supply depots were going down...

The Terrans APM and micro-controll were excellent, of course. But even this is not enough against Jaedong ))) The result was a game of “cat and mouse” from the latter.

jaedong!! YES fucking amazing ZvT despite how much of an uphill battle it is for Zerg I'm surprised Sea didn't get tanks earlier to pressure Jaedong's natural sunken line and try to bust it He got dropships way too late

I think Blizz did a terrific job balancing this game it's probably more balanced than chess. (ppl argue yes). however, terran do possess several too many advantages that would make help determine the outcome of an equal skilled "tvz" game. BTW this game was not equal, JD is by far the superior player in skill level.

Also, terran are the most resource efficient, which is a HUGE advantage. You will often see a zerg on 4/5 bases while a terran is on 2, slowly getting their 3rd, and pumping out mass marines like nobody's business. BTW for ppl that say "air" counters mass tanks... Look at what happened to Jd's guardians, ass raped, as will a larger number of air.

like he deals with any other drop - send a squad to clean up or in some cases - counter aggression. Though taking out a zerg base while your main is getting destroyed is a bad idea

@elan2000 Vessels guarded by marines are not vulnerable to scourge. It's a player's mistake if he lets Vessel wander too far from his marines. Lurks become useless with irradiate and +1 armor from bio. And no T player is going to attack lurkers straight up with bio. He waits for his tanks to kill, and goes to clean the remaining 1 or 2 lurkers. No, Ultras / Defilers come out AFTER vessel. Any decent player would know this. T units just hard-counter Z units simply put.

@bolatus According to kespa rankings (june 2010) the game is balanced and all races are represented . 1st : Flash - Terran // 2nd : Jaedong - Zerg // 3rd Goojila : Protoss. Etc, etc. So quit crying.

no money. His main base is dried now. With 1 expansion that is constantly being interrupted as the fight occurs there, can't defend against never ending 4-5 expansions fueled zerg. Too many ultralisks, which will increase in number; no tanks.

@okay21088 I think if you can play terran at a level that the ever so slight racial imbalances in starcraft become important you might deserve a little advantage for youre playing the most demanding race in the game, at least mechanically. This game has nothing to do with that however as a) Jaedong won and b) he deserved it for playing super well and c) the map is terran favoured (even if only 13 games were played so far). map balance might be another reason for imbalances btw; just saying...

@SuperiorBeen You're ignorant. Dark Swarm is easily avoided by using stim + run out of swarm, then irradiate the defiler/lurkers. Ultras definately help Zerg but without it, Zerg is pretty much dead because tanks / irradiate/m&m rapes every Z unit. Ultras are taken down by irradiate +tanks. Hive tech only helps ZvT push it closer to 50/50 again. That period of time b4 hive tech, Z struggles to survive. Just the fact that Z has to reach a certain tech to make MU more fair shows how imba it is

@hellsassasin1 You say that T > Z > P > T but Toss doesn't have an easy matchup vs. Terran. Late game T with full mech upgrades 200/200 army rape 200/200 Toss army. THAT is why Terran is so imba. Because its actually T > Z > P, and P=T. Terran has no weak matchup. PvT is the most balanced non mirror matchup in the game. Your looking at 54% of games out of thousands and thousands of games. A few percentage is hundreds of games lost. A lot of Z players have claimed T was imba race (ex. Calm)

Here's the bottom line to this balance/imbalance debate: There will always be imbalances, but generally i think terran have the most advantages in any MU. in tvz/tvp terran require the least tech and unit versatility, an obvious advantage. Also sci vessels are kinda lame, I mean even in this game JD could spend 100-100, then 50-100 time "X" for guardians, then sci vessels will just completely negate that. Another example is terran mass tanks... What exactly can counter that w/o being countered?

2 robots running on fuel to control a tvz matchup. Robot 1 = T Robot 2 = Z The Z robot will burn more fuel hands down. Basically, the game is balanced, its just some races require a bit more skill from the player to compete. If your competent like these pro-gamers, you will see that the games balanced. Only noobs complain imba. Jaedong just proved its possible to win, what more do you want.

In any game commentators show race winrates of the map. I have never seen a map where zerg has won more than terrans yet, and its always like 8-5, 11-6, 10-8 for terran. Which simply means its not maps problem, the game is not balanced. Just check average OSL and MSL winners

@hellsassasin1 Just because a matchup is imbalanced, does not mean that Terrans will win 95% of the games from a 100 matches. Zerg had 1 single season of dominance compared to Terran dominance of more than 7 YEARS. A season is not even a year. No I watched progames since 5 years ago. T has had the most winning percentage out of ALL games played, won the most number of MSL/OSL, had the most "bonjwas", etc. A matchup can be imba and still have Terran win only 60 out of 100 games.
