Apparently this is one of the most racist films disney made, thats why you can no longer find legally, this film has links to slavery so i think this a reason why disney are changing it for the better-(i think) im so sad to see this ride go as i am from england and have so much nostalgia from it, whenever im sad i think of this ride and others and the song is so iconic. So in conclusion i can agree with the change but it annoys. Sorry for long paragraph 😢😄

Matheus Neves I used to work for WDW in maintenance. We use bromine in the water not just splash mountain but pirates of the Caribbean it’s a small world in the water around big thunder mountain etc. it’s like chlorine but not as harsh smelling and it’s easier on the skin and clothing nothing fancy. So if you want your bathroom to smell like splash mountain just pick some up at your local hardware store👌

Listening to this is bringing me close to the verge of tears. Splash Mountain is my favorite Magic Kingdom ride and one of my all time favorite theme park attractions. I've loved going on this ride ever since I was little. I've made so many good memories of this ride, from my first time experiencing the drop, to riding many times with my family, to riding with friends who were new to the ride and watching their reactions, just laughing and having a good time, to even experiencing the ride breaking down and riding the rest of the ride with complete silence while the animatronics still go on. These memories will stay with me forever, no matter what. I am lucky to have ridden this ride as many times as I have, but unfortunately, with the whole pandemic and everything, I'm unsure if I'll be able to drop by Disney and ride through it one last time. I'm glad Tiana, my favorite Disney princess, is getting her own ride. But was it really necessary to gut a classic that is loved and cherished by so many people? Why not give her an original ride made from scratch? I've been going to Disney for years and NOT ONCE have I ever seen someone walk off Splash Mountain thinking the ride was racist. The movie may have been problematic, but the ride separated itself from the movie and has almost nothing to do with it. Do you really think Disney would of let this ride stay open for 30 years if it was racist? Do you really think the ride would be as popular as it is if it was racist? It's not racist. I should also add that just because people are disappointed with the ride changing doesn't mean they're racist. There are people who have made cherished memories on this ride, just like me. Of course they're gonna be sad that a ride they loved is changing. Despite all this, I'm looking forward to the Princess and the Frog ride, especially with Tony Baxter on board! But I won't ever forget Splash Mountain and all the fun I've had riding it all these years. Hopefully I'll be able to ride it one last time, but if i'm not able to: Goodbye Splash Mountain, thanks for all the memories. :)

Now it's The Black Cauldron's turn, Disney. You gave Oogie Boogie the Halloween treatment. Maybe it's time for THAT film to do the same. I mean, have you SEEN the film before sending it to the theaters?!? Just the synopsis makes it ripe for the holiday!
@rebelrangerharv51916 жыл бұрын
cyanmanta I just wished they would release Song of the South, but I understand all the backlash they'd get from it. Honestly people lie when they say it's racist, it's not. They are trying to say it's historically innacurate, but they are going extreme, and to be honest some people who call this racist haven't even seen the movie. I've never seen it fully but I did find one (Disney released it for a very short time, they realized their mistake immediately) so I was able to get it.

It's a really cool detail and it is because both parks have Splash Mountain in different "lands". In Disney World Splash is in Frontier Land, and in Disneyland Splash is in critter country that boarders New Orleans Square. You can really hear the jazz influence in the disneyland version while disney world has a more country-western sound. It's small details like that that make Disney the best.

Tom Nolan Yes Georgia is overall theming of Splash Mountain's story and I say Arizona is the theme for WDW's Frontierland area where Splash is located on (including the canyonous terrains and Splash's queue which resembles a Western station and cabin), so I say Splash Mountain of WDW figuratively represents Song of the South's gratitude to AZ where several scenes of SOTS where filmed, and also the ride's close proximity to Big Thunder which is themed after Utah's/AZ's Monument Valley.

We went to Disney World for Spring Break2010, and this the first ride we rode on the first day and the last ride on the last day.......sniff....sniff. :') My twin brother Cody was really sad after the final drop on the last day.

My dad lost his hat on this ride and at the end of the night he reported it with his information. Two weeks later the hat is mailed back to him good as new. That's Disney for you folks.
