I had a glastron in 1988 that looked like this but it was a outboard 150 mercury and she was maroon and white, had a lot of fun on the lake with that baby skiing, we would go early in the morning when the water looked like a sheet of glass and fool around all day long, got a lot of compliments about that boat, also got checked out a lot by marine officers a lot, I believe it was because of the fine cargo I was hauling 😂

Wonder what kind of paint to use. Have a 76 with same motor. Have thought about repaint myself

@@johncarter9054 You can always give refreshing the gelcoat a shot without completely redoing it.... as long as the underlying paint isn't damaged.

Nice work, watched your vids from start to finish, stumbled across them when I was looking for info on redoing the floor in my 1996 Larson. You've done a great job. that thing has an excellent hole shot and sounds really nice looks like it handles the chop well too. Good work and congrats!!

Awesome. Be careful with roll on trailers and older boats. They create pressure points that crack the gelcoat.

@cuban571 PCV valves. Positive Crankcase Ventilator. It takes the fumes from the crank case and puts them into the Carb

Very nice boat, the Glastrons have really good lines. I've got a (Glastron) Spirit V180 with a 200 Optimax, had it since new in july 1990 I see you were getting mid 50's in the video and some chine walking, i think these hulls become a bit unstable at 50mph+. With the optimax i'm reaching 73mph :) get some serious chine walk at that speed haha Very nice boat buddy. :)

@FriscoJarretts I hope so, I am rebuilding the 260/350 on my wellcraft this winter and when I pulled the valve covers I was surprized to see hollow valves. It makes sence. I just didnt know if that was stock mercruiser or if the previous owner modified them because of excessive blowby. But the reading I did said that using a conventional spring loaded pcv wouldnt work. Thats actually what brought me to this vid. clean boat by the way

hey quick question- the two black hoses that go from the airfilter of the carb to where do they go and what are they for.
@cuban57113 жыл бұрын
but how do the fumes get into the carb, if the hoses are not connected to the inside of the carb

@FriscoJarretts They arent real PCV valves right? There is no vaccume tube going to the manifold to collaps the spring in a PCV valve. These are hollow casings made for this application. Using an automotive PCV valve with the spring without being hooked up to a vaccume port will cause crankcase pressure. At leats thats how I understood it.
