From what I gathered in this, we learned a lot of things. 1: This WILL decide the faith of Inkopolis and its government depending on who will win 2: Marina is scared to let Off The Hook break up and letting her friends and fans be in danger which is the main reason why she sided with Order 3: Pearl doesn’t see the problem as she points out how everyone loves Marina more than her and thinks that it wouldn’t change that much and just doesn’t want a stale life which is why she sides with Chaos 4: There are laws about the Splatfest and from what we heard, there’s 4 or more articles about them and the one Pearl enforced to this Splatfest in particular is a very dangerous one 5: The reason cuz Pearl wants Marina to try and stop worrying about everything and just have fun one last time with her, she knows that all good things would come to an end with the Squid Sisters being a good example. If she were to spend her last moments with Marina while being in Off The Hook, she might as well do it with a bang 6: This will be foreshadowing the story of Splatoon 3 and how Off The Hook would break up with history repeating itself. Another band gets torn apart due to the last Splatfest and how it would shape the story for the next game.

I love how for the final s.f they went with a theme that actually makes spla2n fans think and reflect on how these simple video game characters actually go through relatable stuff like we do irl, instead of just a generic final s.f theme like Pearl v Marina or Squid Sisters v Off The Hook. No, i'm serious. Just LOOK at the dialogue these two discuss in this! Pearl OPENLY admitting the fandom's bias towards Marina over herself, Marina giving us subtext about how she basically grew up on the streets before joining o.t.h, and Pearl involving the article that basically decides the setting of splatoon 3. This final s.f theme just hits home a LOT harder than just going w/ the 2 aforementioned themes, and I love the devs so much for pulling that off 😄

Me too. This theme is *SO* much better than the waifu war at the end of the first game. The intro dialogue reminds me of when my best friend and I saw Captain America: Civil War for the first time. Before we went in, we picked our sides, and we both switch sides over the course of the movie. We both sided with Iron Man at first. Then I switched over to Cap's side about halfway through, and then at the end I switched back to Iron Man's side while he switched to Cap's side. This Splatfest is basically the same thing. I was initially thinking Chaos, but Marina's case for Order is starting to make me reconsider.

Ok, so, hear me out... The new duo streams independently, moving around the world because they either need to seek food and new/safe stages (chaos wins), or because they're on the run because they give the banned weapons and gear back (order wins) I have a few ideas: 1-. As they are on the move sometimes one holds the camera while following the other (this could escalate to pretty eventful streams (like them enjoying the view or moving on harsh terrain or even running away from something) and would show a more spontaneous duo as there is no script) 2-. We could see them not only in the plaza, but in places like the battle stages or the background of the adventure mode over-world (that could coincide with where they streamed) 3-. Regarding "1": The camera has 3 modes: handheld (for when they're moving and the like), go-pro (for when they're moving through difficult terrain, like climbing), and in the stand (for the more traditional setup) 4-. For announcing new stages or items they could literally spin the camera to show the stage full-view instead of a still image or the other holding and testing the new gun (they reverse-engineer the gun and share the instructions so it is logic why there is more than one) And the story mode is more about trying to stabilize the world again instead of rescuing the zap-fish again (well, it's possible that the salmonoids kidnap it and so there it is, but still) Edit: maybe the kidnapping of the zap-fish is what triggers the power void to bring the world at peace again Still, I haven't thought on how to explain how a nomad duo do a live performance for splatfest if they're on hiding, or give away gifts for it if the situation is so difficult, so there is that. They could be called Nomad flow or something like that (themed after the oceanic currents and sailing), they do edm, lots of crimes, and never skip leg day. -And maybe, just maybe, we get a male idol-

foxes and whiskers I understand what you mean, nobody wants everything to stay the same idk if you read my theory but the winning team get the world they want I if team order was to win pearl would leave like Callie but I’ll get to that later marina was safety what if marina is way to over protective of the people and she goes over board since marina is good at hacking she may make those mind controlling goggles that the octolings ware and she makes an army and starts lashing out at anyone she see as a fret in the Order side we saw Marie, captaincuttlefish and agent 3 what if they new story mode is to find pearl and stop marina from mind controlling people so you see if team order wins I promise you it won’t just be the same and all boring

• Pancake Wolf • That’s really interesting, actually. I didn’t consider the thought of Marina being able to hack into people’s minds. I thought that for whatever team wins, the losing team will be your side in the next story mode to bring balance to the world. I think the story would be a lot better if it was a broken Marina trying to bring stability to the world and organic security instead of Pearl taking down a corrupt Marina with a niche for hacking reality and minds, but I feel like either way the final bosses will be the winning idol having a change of heart, and tries to bring everything back to normal but their creation ends up going too far and becomes the ultimate, uncontrollable villain.

The reason I didnt choose Chaos is because life is already chaotic, change is good, but, the world might end up burning and being more chaotic than it already is, also, Marina hasnt had a easy life, she worked for the Octarians, maybe she doesnt want everything to be boring and the same, Marina maybe wants to change things up too in the world, not everything is as you seem, Nintendo will probably make something different, I wanted to Choin Chaos because of Etika, RIP, but it's the last Splatfest and Maybe if you finish the story line for Splatoon 3, the world will look different, I dont want everything to be so destructive, or crazy, i really dont like change because it has a 50/50 chance for being good or bad, I acted like a brat as a little girl, and getting in trouble isnt a good thing, but one thing I will say, one reason I did Join Order because of Marina, and also, maybe everything wont be as you think, Yes, Splatoon one had more chaotic and awesome weapons, but did you take a second and think that Marina probably liked them too?

The more I see this old last Splatfest stuff.. the more it really makes me feel like I missed out not being there for the last one due to not playing 2 anymore. I just didn’t know there was more to it that time, and it went and passed without me knowing. Sure I am playing 3 now, but I sure do feel like I missed out by only ever playing through Octo Expansion along with the Squid vs Octo splatfest and then never touching it again…

same situation. my advice is to just be glad you're here for splatoon 3, and enjoy it while it lasts, otherwise you'll end up saying the same exact thing when splatoon 4 releases

Well I read the dialogue if order won and I think they were supposed to break up

The way I saw it, I just thought Marina feared that all of Pearl's talk of change in the announcement meant she was thinking about breaking up Off The Hook, and if Marina won she would have been willing to accept it. But in neither dialogue did Pearl ever mean to break up OTH.
